Not just for seniors
I got everyone in our family Macbooks, however we are all completely new to the tech. So, I got this book hoping it would be able to walk me through how to use them effectively and be able to teach others. This book was just what I was looking for. The title claims it is for seniors, but I would argue that really anyone new to Macbooks can benefit from this guide. The explanations are written in plain language, there is not a lot of technical jargon. THe book also covers what you need to know to get to using your MAcbook, like security, downloading, and cleaning up storage. But, there are also some fun things to do like customize the desktop. THere is also a whole chapter of troubleshooting and tips/tricks. I found this a great help as I was poking around by new setup.

Detailed book
I have had a desk top computer for years and am wanting a laptop. Everyone is saying to get a MacBook, so looking into how hard it would be to use one. This book has everything you need to know and is fully illustrated. You will learn how to set one up, to use Safari, how to send text, how to use the camera and much more. It has some great tips and tricks about the Macbook. Things like security and viruses are discussed in this book, which everyone needs. After reading this book, I will be getting a Macbook.

Not very complete on Mac Air
More focus on Mac Pro than on Mac Air. I am new to Mac computers and this book did not help me overcome many challenges.

Good basic beginner's instruction manual.
Good beginner's manual even if you are only a PC user as I was, but for anything beyond the basics, choose a more advanced manual.

Great book on Macbook
If you have not had a MacBook before, this is a great book to help you learn how to use a MacBook. I have always used windows computers/laptops so I would probably be lost trying to use a MacBook until I read this book. I really like that there is plenty of great photos to help people who are visual learners like myself.

Are we reviewing the same book?
I bought this book partly based on the positive reviews it got, saying it avoided tech gobbelygook, etc. One review talked about inspirational quotes. No such thing in this book. However, the book I received is nothing like the reviews. The introduction is basically an iteration of how the M2 is better than the M1. Here is a quote from the INTRODUCTION: “The single-core of the M2, which runs at 3.49GHz compared to the M1’s 3.2GHz, is 1919, which is around 12 percent quicker than the M1’s single-core score of 1707. The M2 achieved a multi-core score of 8928, approximately 20 percent higher than the M1’s score of 7419.” It sounds as if the author just lifted all this from Apple’s marketing and tech section and stuck it on the introduction without any translation or explanation. As far as I am concerned, this is tech gobbelygook of the first order. Totally NOT understandable. I am not a new user to MacBook but I wanted a book that would help me better understand my computer and this is NOT it. I made it to page 19 where he blabbers on: “The MacBook Air has a resolution of 2560 x 1664, 224 pixels per inch, and 1 billion color support. The brightness is 500 nits, compared to 500 nits in the model from the previous generation. For vibrant, true-to-life colors, it supports P3 Wide color.” Again, sounds like pure marketing/tech language from Apple specs. I can read all this myself on the Apple website but I bought the book hoping the author might help me understand what this means. No such luck and clearly too much to expect from this obviously self-published book without benefit of editorial oversight. I am returning the book — clearly NOT for beginners, seniors or anyone else beside computer geeks.

Great “how to” book for Macbook users
My wife and I are relatively new to MacBooks, and “Macbook for Seniors “ is a great step by step “how to” book for us. From the basics to movies, maps and security; explanations and advice are provided as well as step by steps to accomplish making our MacBook work for us! I think I’ll share it with my son too.

Macbook for Seniors
I recently purchased a Macbook for the first time but I did not know how to best use the apps, programs and all the other functions, but now thanks to this excellent written guide, very clear and detailed, I now know how to use almost everything slowly. Inside this guide you will find everything you need to know about Macbook Air or Macbook Pro, how to perform the first installation, how to simply save all documents and keep all your folders organized and much more. I recommend this guide will help you step by step and not an age everyone can learn, now thanks to this simple guide I know how to use my Macbook to the fullest.

Could be better
Disappointed with this book, it contains very basic information and not in any depth or detail, the paper is a heavy GSM and of second quality, also wide spaced print, this makes the book look and feel larger than it needs to be, personally I cannot recommend this book.

Guide with dozens of tips to use macOS perfectly
After many years of using Microsoft I switched to a Macbook Air and found macOS quite revolutionized. Unfortunately in my language (Italian) there is practically nothing that explains in a simple way the main functions, apps and software for my laptop. I found this guide perfect, lots of tips well ordered, accompanied by dozens of color screenshots, with detailed and precise explanations. The glossary is also excellent and many useful little "tricks"!

excellent manual
Who said that because you are old, new technologies must be precluded? This manual is intended to help you disprove this rumour, explaining step by step everything you need to know to use Macbook properly, to be up to date and, above all, autonomous in the use of the PC without always having to call on the help of grandchildren or children.
