Hasbro's done a nice job with the entry into their line of Black Series wearable helmets. Hasbro addressed some of the criticisms of the Black Series Stormtrooper helmet, which looked nice, but was a difficult fit for some, and the voice electronics weren't very good.In this Poe helmet there are no plastic straps. Instead there are 3 separable foam cloth-covered stitched pads (2 ear muffs and an upper piece). The cloth of the pads stick to any of the 7 built-in velcro discs inside the helmet. It's a tight fit for me with all the pads installed, but if you detach and remove the ear muffs, you'll get about an extra 2 inches of room in width. So while this helmet looks a bit smaller than the stormtrooper helmet to me, it is actually roomier inside and should fit most adults. With the ear muffs removed I can even wear the helmet with glasses on.There are three speakers inside the helmet: two at the front top and one in the back rear. A recessed microphone is at the inside front left. The external swing-out mic is just for show, there are no electronics in it. There is no voice amplification in this one instead your voice simply activates one of a set of pre-recorded sounds that include bb-8, X-Wing and Tie Fighter engine sounds, laser blasts and explosions, that are all mixed together in surround sound. With no voice activation you'll hear a steady in-flight engine sound. It all gives you an impression that you're in the middle of a starfighter battle. And it works pretty well. You can also trigger sounds by pressing the outside disc on the right side of the helmet.The yellow visor raises up-and-down and has detents to hold it in position. However, the blast shield above it is fixed. The paint colors, graphics, and light weathering of the helmet are well done.The outer dimensions of the helmet in inches are approximately 11x9x12 (width, height, depth).

Quality

I purchased this at nearly half the MSRP from Amazon. For the price I paid, I'm pretty happy. The helmet fits snugly but comfortably on an adult head. There really isn't much for functionality. The orange transparent visor moves up and down. The microphone mouth piece flips open and close. The sound effects mimics flight and battle. You hear droid beeping, the whooshing of space going by, blasters and explosions. That is pretty much it. So why am I happy with this product as a grown adult? Glee. It's just pure glee and delight to put on the helmet and imagining battle scenes from a beloved franchise.The detail on the helmet is stunning and the quality, from the sturdy plastic (I wouldn't trust this as bicycle helmet but it will withstand drops and bumps, rubber binding and soft padding were thought out very well. It's great as a prop/costume piece as well as a display item.One wasted opportunity with this item was that with the speakers, Hasbro could have at least integrated audio input or bluetooth. Imagine listening to your favorite tunes or take a phone call with this. Sadly, this isn't a feature.

This is a great collector/toy helmet! I have a 7 1/4 hat size and with the included padded ear cups it fits snug. I can move my head easily around and it's very comfortable. Left side of the helmet exterior has a cap that covers the battery compartment and the right side helmet has a large button to activate BB8 and Xwing/TIE fighter engine noises that are coming from little speakers directly above the ear padding. The boom mic on the left side is adjustable outwards and in angle. The yellow visor is retractable (up/down) and you have a clear field of view. Fantastic for role playing with your kids or just for display, the Black Series Poe X wing helmet is a fantastic piece.When compared to the Black Series Stormtrooper helmet, I feel this is the better purchase- as it is much more comfortable and field of view is definitely better. The sound effects on this Xwing helmet beat the "voice amplifier" that is included with the Stormtrooper helmet.As static displays, the Poe Xwing helmet is visually appealing as it comes with a weathered paint application.

Great Star Wars Helmet, unfortunately it wont fit anyone over a 7.5 hat size, and I'm 7.75 :( Looks really good on the shelf with my other helmets though, well made.

This helmet is awesome. I bought it to wear with a Rebel Pilot costume I'm putting together for halloween. I feel like my head is pretty average sized and it fits comfortably. I can't wear it with my glasses on while leaving in the pads, but I usually wear contact lenses, so it's okay. The pads are easily removable and have little velcro things to hold them in place. Like some other reviews, mentioned, the microphone part in the front and two little vent things on the back of the helmet look completely like plastic. It doesn't bother me enough to make me want to paint them silver, but I imagine doing so would make it look a bit cooler.

I love the details on this helmet. Comes with weathered painting, and symbols are true to the movie. The padding helps it fit most any size.The speakers are on the inside for mainly for the user's experience. Activated by pressing the rebellion symbol on the right, or by saying"BB-8". These include fighter engine sounds, blasts, and BB-8 chirps and wharbles. Didn't think these would be interesting, but I'm glad they're there for more playability for the kids since I only used it for a costume, and then mostly just display.I'm happy with this purchase for costume, display, or play! Sturdy with fun features adding to replay value.

Il casco è curato nei particolari, i materiali utilizzati sono di buona qualità, è ben imbottito all'interno e la visiera si abbassa, i suoni che si sentono premendo un pulsante emulano una battaglia in corso, vi sembrerà di stare dentro un' ALA X. Un altro gadget di Star wars che si va ad aggiungere alla mia collezione. Lo straconsiglio ai fans ma anche come regalo, sicuramente sarà ben accettato! A+++

A must for every star wars fan

Bought for Halloween costume. Very realistic and solid. Our kids and friends will go bananas as for the realism. We do not normally spend on this kind of stuff but when we do we a glad to get it right. Hasbro did a good job with this helmet.

Un beau casque en plastique dur, belle réplique.3 coussinets intérieurs (haut du crâne et oreilles X2) sont détachables (scratch) pour le confort, suivant votre tête.Taille adulte, même si les coussinets permettent à un grand enfant de le mettre.Personnellement j'ai enlevé les coussins d'oreilles, du coup le casque ballote un peu...(pas de sangle jugulaire, dommage)La visière se lève, ce qui est top.Le casque génère des effets sonores à l'intérieur (son de BB8, moteurs, tirs de lasers...) moyennant 3 piles. Assez sympa mais gadget.
