Great for beginners
I have been wanting to grow a bonsai tree for years. I tried a few years ago and wasn't successful. These seeds are great. I was able to grow seeds immediately after planting them (after the 24H soak period). I haven't tried all of the seeds yet as I'm running out of space in my home. However, I do believe this was a worthwhile purchase for beginners. Instructions are easy to follow as well. I will say that the purple wisteria seeds didn't go so well the first go around. I'm waiting to see if this second round will produce anything. I wish there were more purple wisteria seeds. My kit brought about 5-7 seeds. The 24H soak on those seeds caused the seed to rot and get all mushy. Any advice on growing a purple wisteria bonsai would be very much appreciated. Some of the seeds are very difficult to hold for light scratching of the casing surface. Other than that, I'm looking forward to seeing what I've planted grow. Some of these plants grow very quickly. I recommend spraying water on the soil when watering versus soaking the soil as it is very easy to overwater plants. Best of luck!Update (11/18/23): still no luck with growing the wisteria. The seeds keep spoiling, even when planted in dry soil and watered regularly. Iβm not sure how to proceed. This is one of the bonsais I was most looking forward to growing and am sad itβs not working out. π would love any tips and/or tricks. Iβve read articles online to no avail.

I was skeptical, but please, stop browsing and buy this if you want a Bonsai Tree.
Let me tell you, this "REALPETALED" brand Bonsai Starter Kit is the real deal. As someone who has killed more plants than I care to admit, I was skeptical about the whole bonsai thing, especially after how negative of an experience my only prior attempt at bonsai was. But this kit exceeded all my expectations.First of all, the kit is high quality from top to bottom. The soil is rich and nutrient-dense, the pots are sturdy and well-made, and the little bonsai tools are adorable (and surprisingly effective). It's like having your own personal bonsai nursery right in your home. But the real magic happened when I planted the seeds, followed the extremely comprehensive and well-written guidebook's first few pages, and waited. And let me tell you, I didn't have to wait long. Within only a week and a half, I was already seeing a beautiful sprout breaking through the soil (see my attached photo). I was like a proud parent watching my little bonsai baby grow. And can we talk about the seven different bonsai tree seeds that are included in the kit? It's like a little bonsai forest in a box. And the best part? They actually grow! Unlike the low-quality bonsai kit I bought in the past that never worked (seriously, I don't want to talk about that one), this one actually produced a real, live, beautiful bonsai tree, and this is only one out of seven with a generous amount of seeds to spare! In short, this particular Bonsai Starter Kit is a fantastic choice for anyone who wants to try their hand at bonsai growing. It's easy to use, high quality, and actually produces results. Plus, it's just plain fun to watch your little trees grow and flourish as you notice little developments each day. And let's not forget the surprise of seeing just how fast a beautiful sprout breaks through the soil. It's like nature's little joke - you think you have to wait weeks before something substantial will happen, but then BAM! Nearly instant gratification in only a few days. So go ahead, and give it a try. If you want to get into bonsai as a beginner, stop browsing, and buy this product. Final Rating: 10.0/10.0

Very, poor, overall germination.
I planted 5 of the 6 seeds varieties & followed instructions, 3 planted twice now. Only got germination from Sophora japonica, which was good 5 of 6 seeds. Everything else has been a dud, even after multiple attempts. Not even including the Japanese maple, which you have to store the seeds in the fridge for a couple months before even planting (I'm not very confident they will germinate given the other seed quality so far). Buyer beware, while it seems like a great kit, I have little to show (~ 1 month in) except disappointment and moldy soil mix!!!Update @ 2 months. The one variety (S. japonica) I did manage to get germinated is doing great, I transplanted 2 into larger pots and they are both healthy and rapidly growing. However and unfortunately, they both have started to develop thorns on the stem, branches and even at the base of some leaves. S. japonica is not supposed to have thorns!!!!!!! π Another reviewer mentioned that it was likely black locust seeds masquerading as S. japonica. After doing some additional searching this seems to be highly accurate. Additionally, a plant identification app quickly id them as black locust. This was definitely not random contamination, as 5 of 6 seeds planted germinated the same wrong plant. So, long story short, the only seeds that germinated for me, were not even the right plant species and now they have lots of thorns, wow!!!!! Really couldn't be more disappointed with this purchase, as already stated... buyer beware!
