I used to use these when I was reducing the amount of coffee that I drink. They are bitter. They do provide some caffeine boost. But I have switched to a product called Joey which has about 59 g of caffeine and a delightful taste.

These coffee tablets come in a very small tin box. Inside the box the tablets are covered by a plastic top with a slide window to dispense one tablet at a time, ensuring they don’t get spilled everywhere. It’s a nice design. Unfortunately, you can’t eat a design. I took one tablet out and popped it in my mouth … it was bitter. For reference I typically drink dark roast coffee with 1/2 - 1 teaspoon on sugar depending on cup size. I don’t mind bitter … but to my taste these were unpleasantly bitter with a faint cardamom floral taste. I actually spit it out after a min or two. I went to check the box to make sure supposed to be eaten like a mint and not dropped in water to make a beverage out of. That is when I realized the font on the back of the tin was so small I was unable to read much of it … even with my glasses. I looked back at the Amazon description and confirmed they were to be popped like a mint. So today I tried another … this time I knew what to expect. Again, to me these are just to bitter for me to enjoy. Overall, I was disappointed. I like the idea. I like the design of the packaging. But I don’t like the tablets at all. It is worth mentioning everyone’s taste is different. Maybe other will enjoy them.

I am going to write positive things. The packaging is well-designed that will prevent spillage when you open the tin. They are likely to last for a lifetime. They are not toxic; they just taste that way. I let one melt in my mouth this morning and I am not dead.
