5 stars all the way!
Razer BlackShark V2 X Wired Gaming Headset with USB connection for my desktop PC.. I had ordered this with the 3.5mm jack with splitter. I couldn't get the mic to work , there was no on screen volume indicator, the volume wouldn't turn up loud enough and there was a hissing sound.. I called Razer customer support and they determined the unit was defective.. I returned it to amazon, however I couldn't get beyond the troubleshooting page so I had to mark it wrong product received.. Amazon credited my account and I ordered the same headset with USB connection ( about $8 more but worth it ). All I can say is WOW!! I just plugged it in and the on screen volume came up! The Audio quality is better than my HyperX 300 hour wireless headset I've used the past couple years and the microphone is also much better than the expensive HyperX. The ear cushions are on par with the expensive aftermarket wicked cushions I had on the HyperX . Those Wicked ear cushions cost almost as the entire Razer headset! I made a sale on my very first business call and I couldn't be happier. For the price I'm rating at 5+ stars with the USB connector. Update **** It's now June 25, 2026. I have used this headset almost every day for over 8 hours a day since I bought it. It still looks like, and performs like it did the day I bought it. No signs of wear anywhere!

awesome 👏 👍 great performance
Awesome 👏 I work on phones and having hearing issues wear hearing aids so they pick up lots of background notices and make hearing people on the other end of the phone nearly impossible. I saw a co-worker with these and inquired she said she uses them (worked remotely) because of an online gamer at home. Very noisy and these help with background noise. I got em to try for my hearing issues and YUP! They work!! Blocks out a lot of the background noise!! I can hear the callers so much better. The larger over sized cups cover my hearing aids and make a nice vacuum seal! Loveeeee it! I cannot hear myself so I have to be careful to not talk to loud! That is how dang good they work! Hope this help ya if ya need a reasonably priced headphones that block out outside noises!!!! 👍👍👍

Great Headset for FPS
Didn't leave a review for these when I purchased them in 2024, but I would like to now. Late to the party. With the expectations that no one will read this. I'm mainly leaving this review because I didn't know what I had until it was gone. I've been happily using these for the last two years. I play mainly Counter Strike 2, but have used these playing WoW and some other solo games. The sound has been great throughout all of these experiences. I have a big head (7 7/8) and the fit of the BlackSharks was great. They were very comfortable for long periods of time. The faux leather pads got a little sweaty, but I could have changed those if I wanted to. On Windows 11, these were plug and play setup. The microphone quality is good. I wouldn't use it to record voice over for work, but I've never had issues communicating in game, Zoom meetings, or Discord chat. For CS2 - generally, I can distinguish sounds if there are a number happening at once. If both teams show up and start firing it gets a little muddy, but still not horrible. The directionality of sound is great. I can determine direction and distance of footsteps/noises quite well. Last year we got a dog and he likes to mill around my feet and computer and has gotten hung up on the headset cable a few times (my fault for not having better cable management - not his or Razer's). I started getting weird static in the headphones and found a tear in the cable at the base of the headset. Currently I'm trying to find a set of headphones that live up to these. Tried HyperX Cloud 2 and the sound was super muddy and the directionality/distance was inconsistent. Going to try a Philips setup (mainly for the replaceable cable), but if those don't work out I'll just get another set of BlackSharks. Both the Cloud 2 and Philips setups are at least 2x the cost of the Razers now, so I'm probably not making great life choices.

It is good.
It is actually good for the price, the microphone works well, and the quality seems good. The cable is amazingly long but you can tie it up and hold it with a silicone thing it has attached.

Cord is awful / Green cord model
I bought it on sale after my Corsairs broke after around 2 years of daily work use for $45, overall the mic quality, general construction and sound was pretty decent considering that price so I would give it a 8/10, there wasn't any peeling or degradation like most headsets after a few months but the reason this headset gets such a low score from me is the cord, specifically the cord sleeve.. First off I want to mention this seems to be only an issue with the model I got, the one that comes with the green polymer cords sleeve. I've owned several wired headsets in the past from Razer and other brands and none of them have been like this they are normally braided metal or rubber this cord sleeve was textured rubber I haven't seen on any other Razer model. Out of the box the cord wanted to tangle and collapse in on itself no matter how many times I would try to untangle it it kept wrapping back up on itself even before wearing it. Then once I started wearing it the tangling got even worse, daily I would untangle it but the cord sleeve was twisting not the "cable" itself meaning no matter how I straightened /untangled the cord out the sleeve would make it twist back up on itself almost immediately. 4 months later It has stopped working it its entirety, if this model was wireless at this price point I would genuinely give it 5 stars. But the daily fighting with the cord, having to stretch it back out and eventually it just stopping working completely due to that makes this a 1 star product.

Great headset at a awesome price
Excellent headset the speakers are very good and the microphone work good. Just plug into USB and ready to use I discoevered a issue today while trying to get Razer Synaspse to detect the headset and Razer said this headset is not compatible. So can not make adjustments to mic input cause kind of low on the pickup. Maybe Version 3 is the better choice

Don't hesitate to buy, great product for a reasonable price.
Excellent sound quality and very comfortable. The cord length is just right, not too long and not too short. The whole design of this headset is great. I would definitely recommend these for anyone look for an inexpensive yet quality headset.

Fantastic value office/game headset, quality all-round.
Awesome wired headset for office work. (presumably also for gaming) The mic is exceptional, outperforming all my other headsets in side-to-side comparison, including the Barracuda X. Its the most comfortable headset I've ever put on, period. The ear cubs are deep and large. Clamp force is pretty light. And the set itself is very lightweight. Its all plastic construction but feels really solid to use. Matte finish. Comes with carry case and two cables, both non-generic. Sound for music is ok, great for the price, but easily outperformed by headsets twice the price. I'm no audiophile so its hard to be specific, but I might say the mids were muddy and treble under-pronounced. Sounded good on video calls but just "good" for detailed music. Probably good for games. Noise isolation is very good but there is no noise-cancelling technology, to be clear. The whole package speaks of quality and the $ value is very, very impressive.

Great audio. Questionable durability
Hello. I bought these headphones in September of 2022. So it's been slightly over a year that I've been using them. I mostly use them for watching videos (school-related or otherwise). Some light gaming in the past and other general everyday use such as listening to music. THE GOOD: The audio quality is seriously great. There's a great deal of bass in the music I listen to but it's not muddy. I have a pair of Sony XM4s which were nearly $400 retail when I bought them a few years ago. And honestly, the difference in audio quality between these headphones and those isn't that far off. Of course, the Sony's are EXCELLENT headphones for almost all use cases and are definitely superior. But the point I'm trying to make is these Razer headphones despite being 1/4 the price are comparable. On a final note, very comfortable to wear for hours and hours especially if you work at a desk like me for very long periods of time. THE BAD: Admittedly it is my fault that this has happened although I'd expect the wire to be a little more durable for wear and tear like this. I ran over the wire with my chair and I guess it weakened the plastic covering over the wire and eventually I just tore the plastic covering off of that part specifically because it was literally hanging on by a few threads and it would happen eventually. Also the wire tangles very easily but I also had that issue with my hyperX ones prior to this so idk what to do about that tbh. On a comfort note. Sometimes if I have one earmuff on like halfway it starts bothering me after a bit, but obviously the headphones aren't meant to be used that way so it's not a big deal. The last problem I have with the headphones. There was a ringing noise in my left ear when I initially bought the mic every time I'd load up a game. That issue quickly subsided after I got a separate mic (HyperX Solocast). And I haven't had that issue since. Conclusion: Great headphones, seriously good audio (esp for the price), wonderful comfort and all-around good headphones to get you by for >90% of daily uses and gaming situations. Try and be careful with the wire as it can tangle and very easily rip if you're not careful like me (eg. rolling over it with a chair or otherwise). Lastly, try and pick it up on sale, I believe I got it on some type of sale but I can't remember. Cheers.
