Does each light come with the appropriate power cord?

The cords are short, maybe 3 feet. You may need extension cables

Do these work by themselves (just with power source and remote) without plugging them into a DMX?

Yes they work with power surcharges, great amazing lighting plus your remote control activates all @ same color & time you can plugged them all in set of 7 since they're led they don't take much electricity! Highly recommend! We ❤love them😉!

How do I control the lights independent of each other with the remotes?

They all respond to the same infrared, so the answer would be to shield one while you change the other. Unfortunately, they blast so powerfully and I am not 100% sure where the receiver is, it is hard to do

What type of power plug do these come with?

Mine was hard wired with a two-prong (ungrounded) US-style connecctor.
