Best fitness watch I've ever owned. Only fitness watch I've ever owned.
I bought this watch for the gps feature, to help track distances and routes for free ride mountain biking but have found that I use it for much more than that. The ugliness of this watch will grow on you when you find out how much it can do. It links to your phone so it alerts you to phone calls, texts, emails etc. And living in a state that has a hands free law, it's kinda nice not having to look for cops every time you get a text. That's a joke actually. I don't text and drive. The gps is super accurate when you select "high accuracy". It will even show you what side of the street you're on when you go to aerial map on the app.The sleep tracker is really nice not to mention accurate. Working midnights, I struggle to get adequate sleep. With my Polar, I can always track my patterns. The heart rate monitor is accurate but sometimes it reads it a little slow. Would be nice if it was a tad faster. The battery life is ok depending on what you do with it. I use the gps on high accuracy every time so I have to charge it every few days. On the other hand, I've been backpacking with it and used the gps on power saver mode and it lasted the full 5 day trip. Then it still had enough juice to last two more days under normal wear before I charged it.The backlight is very good. It's got a low level backlight that turns on with every button you push. Which you won't even notice in daylight but will when in low/No light settings. The upper left button will engage the high output backlight. I have never found a need to use that one. The low level light is plenty.I put a case and screen protector on it to keep it safe during hard mtb rides. The watch seems to be a winner, other that it's appearance. I think it's kinda ugly. I'm use to tactical style watch, this has more like a yuppy smart watch look to it.I've yet to wear it swimming but have worn it in the shower. It has a swimming program on it so I'm assuming it can handle it.This watch does have an alarm but uses a vibration alert instead of one you can hear. This is soo much better. I've yet to sleep through it. In fact, if you're asleep and the alarm goes off, it scares the crap out of you. I'll never go back to a regular watch alarm. The only thing I wish it had was a regular timer. It's got a distance timer but that doesn't really help me when I'm cooking a frozen pizza. But oh well. Can't have everything, I guess.Seems to be plenty durable as well.

Great gps heart rate watch
Great watch. I don’t particular use it for the sleep tracking option, I am up from my sleep several times or fall asleep earlier or later depending on the day and it usually gets my sleep time wrong. The gps and heart rate tracking works great during workouts and runs. Finding the signal is much better compared to the M400. The battery lasts 3-4 days depending on how much I workout and I have continuous heart rate tracking on all the time, so I think the battery is great. The overall durability is great too, just try to avoid hard direct hits to the watch which is usually the case with any electronic device. I would recommend to anyone looking for a heart rate gps watch.

Accurate HR Monitor- Far Superior to a Fitbit
This watch is awesome and the heart rate monitor actually works accurately during exercise unlike every Fitbit I've owned. It's easy to use and has every feature I want- GPS, heart rate, step count, sleep monitor, time, calendar, exercise monitors, backlight, etc... The App is great once you get used to navigating it. Battery lasts quite a while and charges quickly. I wear this 23.5 hours a day and only charge while I'm showering but I think I've gone a week without charging it at all an it was still going. After 60 days of use and abuse this watch still looks perfect and doesn't have a scratch on it. I've had 4 or 5 Fitbit watches and they are usually pretty beaten up by now and are broken by the 6 month mark. None of the Fitbits have had nearly the useful features the M430 does.I love this thing and I'd say it's just about perfect! The only con with the M430 is the largish size but as a larger man it's not an issue for me.Update: I've been wearing this watch daily for over a year and it's still in perfect condition and works flawlessly. It's the best device like this on the market!

Great watch for the price
I have had this watch for a couple of months now. I wear it all the time and the strap is comfortable enough that I don't notice it, even at night. The GPS and heart rate functions are consistently accurate. That is to say that running the same course at the same pace gives the same results. I have used the training functions to train for a half marathon. Getting used to running in a specific heart rate heart rate zone was really hard at first, especially at lower zones. I really like the exercise videos that accompany the training. Being able to see how to do the exercises and have a countdown for the whole routine is very handy. I can even get the videos on a mobile device if I am away from home. It is a shame that the watch does not automatically sync to Runkeeper, but I knew that in advance and you can manually download the activities from Polar and upload them to other apps easily enough. Another plus is being able to create your own watch face to show you the data that you want to see when doing an activity. It means you can get rid of stats that you don't need to see and concentrate on what you find important. I have a half marathon coming up in May and that will be its first real-life test. All round, I have been pleased with the performance of the watch and would recommend it.
