The little bulb can be filled with sand or water. The ball comes full of sand but it too heavy to use so prior to use you need to pour out some of the sand. It comes with extra plugs although I just used the same one it cam with after emptying the sand. **Q: The price on this says 18.98 but in my cart it says 25.98. What's the deal with that?** A: Are you an amazon prime member? If not, amazon will add more service fee. I added my slightly embarrassing video of my very first time using the product to make the review as real as possible.The product comes completely disassembled while I’ve seen others come at least partially assembled. That being said it was very simple to put together.The counter on it works perfectly. I was counting in my head and it was spot on to the amount that I did.The hoop was snug to my waist with the 12 pieces intended to be added. (There’s one extra in the box incase one breaks) I added photo is of a measurement of the hoop to get an idea if this one would fit if you were thinking of ordering it. You can take links out but not add any.It takes a second to get it going and helps if you really throw it around your body to get it started. I also haven’t used even a regular hula hoop in years so maybe that’s why.One of my concerns is that even on the first use some of the links were catching the weight as it circled around.
