Great
This was a much cherished story of how cruel society can be to those that look different. But kindness will always win out because it’s what’s on the inside that counts. You can be so beautiful but if your heart is filled with malice and hatred because you think you are so much better then others, you find that you are the ugly one because beauty is only skin deep. This is a truly a wonderful story of true love leading to happily ever after.

the scarred Governess
This was a sweet clean romance.Having lost her father, Rosalie’s aunt helped her get a job as a governess.Years later the children grew up and she once again needed a job. However, the agency continues to tell her there are no positions available. Finally after her fifth visit she realizes that the agency is not recommending her because of her birthmark on her cheek.Thankfully her employer recommends her for a governess position with her dear friend who’s granddaughter need a governess.Sophia is often treated cruelly due to her having two different colored eyes. Just as Rosalie has because of her birthmark.Rosalie and Sophia form a bond and a friendship and Sophia begins to flourish under Rosalie’s teachings. The Duke, Sophia’s father not only notice’s this but notices Rosalie and how beautiful she is both in appearance and in her heart.Their is intrigue and a person who will do whatever she must to prevent the Duke and Rosalie ever being together.I enjoyed this book and this author

Well...
It was sweet, but a little bland. The relationship between the Duke and Rosalie seemed rushed too. Really just an okay book.

Truly Beautiful!
This inspiring story of one young lady finding love after the death of her father, and moving away to become the governess of a Duke's young daughter was filled with moments of drama and action. This was a story about finding the courage to face against prejudice over the way one looks, beautifully written and moving.

Duke/Duchess
*A duke and duchess should be addressed as "Your Grace."*A viscount should never be addressed as "My Lord Duke" or "Your Grace."*The Duchess is the "Dowager Duchess," not the "Dowager Lady Livinwood."Please research British titles before next book and thoroughly proofread all future books. There were too many mistakes in what turned out to be a wonderful story.

Outstanding Story
Sally you have created a wonderful masterpiece. Rosalie seems to be almost perfect with her love and kindness to everyone. You wrote her as a great teacher and an outstanding human. Thank you. I enjoyed this book.

Rosalie
There are so many problems with this book. It starts with the title of the book The Scarred Governess of Livington Manor. The manor was called Livinwood, not Livington. And there are no scars involved on anybody. Lots of typos and errors. Sophia who was only 8 yet spoke like someone 20 years older. And so much more needed an editor's hand. There is a romance, a quick HEA, and two epilogues but it wasn't enough to save it.

The Scarred Governess
A nice story but a bit slow at times also the governess had a birth mark not a scar but it had a lovely epilogue

disappointed
Yup very disappointing, not what I expected, in hindsight I should have read more of the reviews, quite unbelievable to be honest, no real character development more along the lines of something you might read in a weekly magazine!

No
I could only read the Prologue. With SIX (minimum) examples of Americanism or modern slang, I couldn't continue. I had it in my head that Ms Forbes was a reasonable writer of the Regency period, but if one can't even use anywhere near the correct language, it just becomes another pot boiler. I also loathe the word, 'figured'. Really? Wouldn't another word work? Considered? Contemplated? Decided? Knew? Conceived? Perceived? Appraised? Pondered? Realised? Understood? Deemed? Noted? Supposed? Thought? Believed? Expected? Fancied? Suspected? Assumed? Concluded? Trusted? Deduced? Inferred? Gathered? Gleaned? Divined? Guessed? Figured is such a boring word, used far, far too much in modern fiction and (apart from being a boring word and showing a lack of imagination on the part of the writer), is an anachronism in books based on this period and it is lazy writing. Not what one expects from a professional author. A very disappointing work from this author.
