This first book is awesome! It is really soft, easy to clean and durable! The story is cute and rhymes nicely. It does grow nicely into toddlerhood with lots of colors and textures. The pictures are cure and colorful and you can use the book as a tool to help with soft play and teaching. A really versatile toy!

My little one was 5 months old when she got this soft book and she still plays with it at 14 months old! She absolutely loves the different textures this book has. It has a crunchy texture, soft texture, and the leaves on the pages can be opened to show different forest animals. The quality of material is amazing and it handles biting, scratching, pulling on very well. My baby has thrown this thing around and pulled it all over and it's still as great as it was the first day she got it. It's so bright and colorful, she loves looking at all the pages and different animals. I highly recommend this book for all babies. They will love it just like my little one does!

PEEK-A-BOO FOREST: This is a pretty good soft book. Each two-page spread has a line asking what is hiding and it ends in a word that rhymes with the animal. Then there is a crinkly flap that you open to reveal the hidden animal and its says peek-a-boo its a _____. I found the flow of the book to be good and the overall design fun. I like that is focuses on "pee-a-boo" because its fun to play that game with kids and they really understand what it means. Was well thought through and appropriate for the age group. I will not grow tired of it easily.CAPTAIN CALAMARI'S TREASURE: This book is rather lame in comparison. Not worth buying in my opinion. There is NOTHING interactive in the book until the very end and its only a cheap mirror. No crinkly objects, ribbons, felt, etc. Even if the page reads "sparkly fish looks shiny and bold" - the fish is a mat pink with no sparkle or shine at all. Also on some pages the words were nearly missing because the writing was so close to the sewn edge that it sometime gets sewn into the seam.

I have purchased several of these for gifts. It is the cutest book, with simple 'sounds' (i.e. crinkly), and fun for baby. The flaps are easy to lift & reveal the hidden animal. The bright colors are so eye catching and the animals have large eyes which catches the child's attention. It has a clip with it so it can be attached to strollers and car seats. Probably the best book I've purchased for baby showers; I get many comments on how much both parents & children enjoy it.
