Obviously Dremel are the go to brand for craft tools and drills, and I have their mains corded version and a great many tools and polishing kits, so I know and love using these kinds of tools.Just to start by saying I’m a real user who chose to buy this Hardell 4V tool and have never been given products or sponsored. The reason I start with that note is that you’re probably like me, and have read so many gushing and detailed reviews of products you immediately think the author is waaay too keen and working too hard to write the review. It crosses your mind that they’re either related to the marketing team, or having what we shall simply call ‘intimately exciting’ experiences with a staff member, or that they’re so beautiful and fabulous on their Instagram that they get showered with gifts in the post each day and employ people on minimum wage to type ideas into ChatGPT to generate reviews. That needs saying because I’m incredibly pleased with this tool and have found it is so well made, works so well and is actually designed to be a very surprisingly good product for a £24 product. I’m kind of surprised and felt something so good deserves praise. So bear with me, I’m positive about all aspects of this little thing and hope others find my review was fair - I know - sorry, that seems a brave new concept….Stepping sideways briefly to drop in a side quest for you, my actual use case was that I wanted to engrave some stones and rocks we collected on holiday with their date and place of origin to put on the patio. Weird, but sweet I know. If your own use case is different, it won’t matter, there are some great polishing, cutting, grinding and drilling tools included so you will find you can get other things done you didn’t realise. In my case, a car brake light broke and melted itself together. But we’re talking a few seconds of your life set aside to fiddle, not a dramaThe on off switch and speed controls both smooth and feel they will last, typically the things that break on cheap productsThe grip and handling are ideal for small jobs and it’s such a good size and feel in the palm that it’s ideal for small and low power jobs.Final thought, this is a 4V drill, tool, so any reviews that might cast misery on its power are forgetting that it’s small and well targeted. So far jobs lasting 10 mins seem to use about 1/4 of the battery which is fine because those jobs are done quickly.All in all one of the best cheap tools I’ve ever bought on Amazon and bearing in mind it replaced a bigger, uglier and less pleasant tool bought from Lidls weird purchase day shelf, that’s high praise

A total complete set for various projects.

I bought this to replace the mains-corded Dremel I've had for years, but seldom use because it's large and heavy. This tool is well designed and made, and works for me because:> it's small and light enough (0.27KG) for fine work> has five speeds from a low rumble to a high pitched whine (think dentist)> enough torque to drive small burrs, cutters, drills, blades and mops without stalling> easy to charge by USB type C, takes maybe 30min from 50-100% (5V 2A)> experience so far is the charge holds well, can't put a number on it though> the design and build approach Bosch standards I would say> really good ergonomics, controls, balance, grip> visually low key and cool, two tone grey, more Bauhaus than Star Wars thank goodness> NOTE, I think it should have a good service life if not over-stressed -- don't know if it has a thermal cutout, however only time will tell.All told I'm delighted with it and now use it for making and repairs in wood, metals and plastics consistently, whereas I hardly ever picked up my old Dremel (now selling).

The item has many useful attachments for use with sanding and carving. Be aware that even though it comes with three difference sizes of drums, they are all the same grit. I would have expected the larger the drum, the heavier the grit, but this is not the case. So, I'll buy an assortment of sanding grits and sizes, it's still a good value.
