Ok, we have the wired version of this (you can also wire this one in, if you wish) but this one I got for my mom after my dad passed away from cancer. She didn't have a doorbell and sometimes some neighbor kids would do pranks, and also my parent's catalytic converter got stolen off of their vehicles a while back. It was very stressful. (Ours did too, and we had to stay in town a few extra days to get one installed so that we could drive home.) While the doorbell won't prevent crime, it is very helpful to police officers. It is also a nice deterrent having this because when criminals see a ramp at an older person's house, they think easy target. This makes them a less easy target. I'm able to check on things for her, as are my brothers that live a very short distance away from her. It gives her peace of mind, and I was able to fulfill the promise to my dad ( even if I couldn't get it done before he passed away like he had hoped). We installed one of these on our home after trying 3 others, this is the ONLY one I would recommend (this one or the wired version, both are excellent). The thing to keep in mind with this unit if you utilized the battery (and don't wire it in) is you will need to charge it every 30-90 days, depending on how you use it. When you stream the video, you use that battery. When motion is detected, it uses the battery. The sensitivity level, will use more or less battery accordingly. Now, with 5 people at the time using the doorbell, it was going to be charge roughly in about 30-32 days. But now the way we have it set up, even with high sensitivity, and the newness has worn off for my brothers (lol) we only access it ourselves as needed, and the battery is easily lasting closer to the 90 days mark. I haven't checked to see if it lasted longer, but mom is charging it then anyways. The recent updates have also helped with false notifications like "your package was picked up" or "you have a package" when neither case was true. So if you read other reviews, this is fixed. The only false notifications is during really heavy busy storms, and even then it is rare. I also have a palm tree at my door so it looks like someone is running across the porch when there isn't anyone, so I do no blame the app at all. I'd rather be notified for the bad storm if I'm away anyway, so I can have someone check on my place when it passes. So I can't give this any higher praise. We own a lot of eufy products and they are all great quality. They are also related to ANKR, and we have been using ANKR for over a decade both personally and professionally. They have a great support team too. Neither of us have needed to use support for the doorbells or in the last few years, but they have a proven track record. REMEMBER, be NICE. Kindness goes a long way. No matter how frustrated you are, the person on the other end did NOT do anything to you. They are there to help you. Treat them like your bestie that helps you out on things and you will get to see their stellar support in action. Or not because they have an excellent line of products and they WORK. Wired to existing home doorbell wiring that charges battery in Eufy doorbell. Video and audio is excellent day or night. Live in Alberta Canada and we recently had very cold weather. This doorbell seems to shutdown when temperature is -23 celsius and remains off until temperature rises. Other than that problem it is a great device. Update February 2025 Had a loose doorbell transformer wire that was not secured fully. Tightened both wires and now camera works in extreme cold weather. Was -30 celsius this week and worked flawless without problems. Been very cold this winter and this has been put to the test. Very pleased and would now recommend this device for any extreme weather in Canada.

On sale, this is one of the best cameras available. The day and night video is very good. Package and Human detection are very decent. I like that I don't have to pay a monthly subscription for this type of service. Many settings to customize the experience are available. The wireless connection with my ASUS 11000AX is very strong about 20m away with a brick wall and multiple walls between the doorbell and the router. The notifications are received within seconds after an event. The installation was very easy to do. Within 1/2hr it was fully operational. Now, we will see if our Canadian winter will get the best of it!
