LOVED IT! Easy Read & 12yo approved
We purchased the Kindle version and a hardcopy. I'm reading the kindle copy, and my 12 year old PLOWED THROUGH the paper version. As with most twelve year olds, it took a little prompting for him to start the book, but once he picked it up, he was hooked. Here is his review & message to Mr. Campbell:"It is a great book, and I love how you integrated the fiction into the facts of Padre Pio’s life. I have never actually read any biography (or anything really) on Padre Pio, and this book has made me want to be more like him. No kidding. I am surprised that I have even been able to write this much on it. I thought I would just be unable to find the right words.THANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS!!!"This is my kid who has to be REALLY intrigued by a subject to read about it, so this should be a testament to Mr. Campbell's style of writing. It definitely drew my son in, in only a few sentences. And now, we are really looking forward to reading more of his books! (from the Mom of a very happy boy)

Inspiring Story!
Wounds of Love is a memorable and fascinating book about the life of Padre Pio. I loved how Mr. C told the stories from St. Pio’s life and after reading this book I am inspired to try to be more like Padre Pio. I would 100% recommend this book to anyone looking for a well-told and inspiring story of a saint. - reviewed by Miriam, Age 16

Great for all ages!
Padre Pio's life was certainly complex and fascinating, and so capturing it all in one book is no easy task. Author Phillip Campbell does a great job giving us a wonderful glimpse of Padre Pio at all his different ages and stages. The illustrations are an added bonus. This would be a great discussion book for middle school or high school. Adults will enjoy reading it as much as the students!

Great "Living" Book for All Ages
It is not so often I like biographies written about the saints. Authors either tend to sensationalize them to a level of holiness that seems impossible to aspire or, more often, they take too many liberties and modernize the saint to make them "more approachable" to the modern reader. Mr. Campbell does neither. Rather, his narrative writing style allows the reader to begin (or continue) a relationship with Padre Pio, the boy, the man and the Saint. I cannot wait to read this book aloud to my children. It's nice to find a modern, in-print, living book of a great Saint!

Powerful story of a servant of God
I read "Wounds of Love" first before passing it along to my children. This historical fiction story does an excellent job of story telling and teaching about St. Padre Pio's remarkable life.I highly recommend it, especially for middle schoolers and older. My young 9 yo is not ready for the parts about how demons physically tormented Padre Pio.

Amazing book on Padre Pio
You can never go wrong with a book by Phillip Campbell. This book is well done, interesting and inspiring. I gave it to my son as a Christmas gift and he devoured it. Padre Pio is a favorite saint of his. Buy the book you won't regret it.
