Works well
No issues at all with these inline jacks. But the rubber flippy lid doesn’t work, won’t stay on. I did’t install with them on.

USB-C isn't supposed to be directional, and the dust cap is worthless
So the dust cap is pointless. The rubber for it is so soft and plugs into the socket but also has to go around the pins inside it. I could not get it to go in.Next, and worse, is this port is directional for data and power. I'm using it just for power so the data part isn't a huge issue, but that data issue means that it won't fast charge in one direction. My phone was at 70% charge and would take either 31 minutes or 1 hour 58 minutes to charge all the way just by reversing the cable. That's ridiculous. Stay away from this thing, it should just be passing all the pins right through as they are, not leaving some disconnected.

Good connectors, very well built!
I added a charging pot to the rear of my 2019 Tacoma center console and used these for the connector port.I took the back panel off the center, measured for clearance and drilled a hole. Under the center arm rest I used a step drill to drill a small hole in the bottom, added a small rubber grommet to protect the usb c cable, plugged it into the factory charging port, ran it through the grommet and plugged it into this connection port, wire tied the excess cable and reinstalled the panel. The connection port is sturdy, easy to install, and works like a champ.

It does work but has some quirks
Thanks for the tip from one reviewer that said that this unit only has connection one side. So if you plug in a cable and it doesn't work, flip it 180 degrees. The pins are only on one side. I feel this is pretty ignorant and makes it hard to rely on. I only use it for power delivery. I wouldn't trust this for data. It might work fine but I don't have that much faith in the panel mount connector. Other than that, it does work and the usb gives a nice snap when inserted all the way which is very reassuring that it's fully inserted.

Literally doesn’t work
Would love to leave 0 stars. Literally didn’t work. What a waste of time installing into a rack.

Works, but it's directional and the dust cap doesn't stay on
I bought this for use with my Temple Audio pedalboard so I can easily connect my Morningstar MC8 midi controller to my computer. It fits the side of the pedalboard perfectly, but the rubber dustcap simply won't stay in place. Also, like others have mentioned, this product is directional. So if you don't get a connection, flip your USB C cable around and it should work. I didn't think USB C was directional but I guess with this connector it is.

One-sided ports only!
TL;DR: These ports are ONE-SIDED only and so both cables on either side of this port must be in the same direction to function for data transfer.I purchased three of these in total for a video switcher/broadcast rack. For this purpose they do work but with an asterisk, which I'll cover later. One of these is passing through USB control as well as audio/video out of a Blackmagic Design Constellation 2 ME HD. With the preliminary testing done, these ports do work for passing all through with acceptable quality. The other two are mounted in the front of my AV rack, as shown in the photo and are used to connect external SSDs to the two Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio Plus units.I have also run preliminary tests on both recording and playback through these ports and they do seem to perform well for both tasks from what I can see.Now for the asterisk **THESE PORTS ARE ONLY ONE-SIDED!!** and so this means that even though they are USB-C, which means it should not matter which way the cord is plugged into them, they WILL NOT WORK if you do not have both cords on either side in the same orientation. So if you plug something into these and they do not work, unplug, rotate the plug and plug back in and they should work, or at least that is what is working for me. It's a little annoying but I can live with it as I'll likely not be using these ports often enough to waste more time shopping for alternatives and returning these.Anyway, hope this helps!

Wait. What?
These plugs only work one way. Flip the cable and it doesn't charge.
