Works, but be aware, it smells.
The cleaner smells like hair perm product. Reminds me of when my mom and my sisters used to perm their hair as a child. Not a pleasant smell. This is fine as I didn't buy it for the cleaner, I bought it for the hat reshaper for drying. I use Oxiclean instead. I wish they sold a kit that comes with multiple shapers as I have a lot of hats and it takes a full day for one to dry.
