Surprising and enjoyable!
Since I haven’t read any of the author’s books before, I decided that this going to be a very light-hearted romance. Little did I realize that some of the themes were deep, and was so pleasantly surprised to discover that. When always-on-the-job Lucy, is forced to attend a wellness programme by her best friend, she meets ever-so-laid-back Zack. He’s always running late and just irritates Lucy with his attitude. Imagine her surprise when Zack has also thrown his hat in the ring to buy the house that she has always dreamed of owning. When both of them come up short with a regular income and a deposit, Lucy agrees, most reluctantly to buy the house jointly with Zach. She is really stuck with him!Co-ownership of the house means co-habitation and their different attitudes to life, result in some hilarious episodes and lots of misunderstanding! Both of them have secrets and wounds that they try to hide from each other. But they start to influence each other. As Lucy starts to slow down her crazy pace, Zach begins to get more organized and slowly they do begin to enjoy some time together. They also had more in common than they realized. Lucy and Zach, though deeply hurt by choices of their families, were also fiercely protective of some of their family members. While romance and falling in love is a part of this story, it’s also about how family can influence us, and how we need to find ourselves and reassess our priorities.I enjoyed the author’s easy style of writing and the humour and surprises she weaved into this enjoyable story.

Good book.
"Forced Proximity is one of the trickiest tropes, in my opinion."The reason behind my statement is pretty simple really. Forced proximity can be the very best thing or the very worst thing, and very rarely are there situations when it can be somewhere in between. I mean to say, that in such scenarios it can be very easy for characters to see the best and worst of each other. Miscommunication, despite such close quarters, is very high and in most scenarios that's what makes it fun. The best part being, that such closeness tends to ramp up the (ahem) sexual tension. (The Sex Swing got me)Stuck with him has somehow managed to stay in the middle. I loved the banter and the comically opposite traits of Lucy and Zack (Ziggy). I loved the fact that there was some deep family issues and concerns for both of them. I liked the fact that they slowly brought out the best in each other. And, of course, I was very happy with the ending. Would've loved to have an airport scene though.Thank you NetGalley, Danielle Owens-Jones and Bookouture for letting me read this Advanced Reader's copy.

Perfect for Rom-Com Lovers
Lucy - an interior designer, business woman and a workaholic - reverts back to starting stage of her business when she makes a consecutive bad decisions that leads to losing many of her clients. As promised to her bestfriend, she attends her yoga classes everyday where she comes across never-on-time zack, her instructor. He seems to live a carefree life but there is a lot behind that in his life. When Lucy's childhood's house comes into market for sale, she decides not to lose the one-in-lifetime oppurtunity. But little does she know that zack is in the race too. What happens now? Who can afford the beautiful house with sunset-yellow-front-door?Wait, are they both single too? Lucy is. For sure. Zack!? Never mind, Lucy hate him and his late ass.🤧🤧Thoughts:- Plot has some potential to be a good romance. But this being a rom-com, romamce is very little.- This is completely from Lucy's POV. I would love to see it in Zack's POV too.But this is fun to read. It is light and breezy with a little emotional touch.- I hate Katie. I generally love friend characters. Sometimes more than leads. But Katie, is just, nah...hate her. She is already responsible for making Lucy's life worse and she wants her always to make it up to her for some things that Lucy messed up. I understand she want Lucy to be better, but forcing it on her is something I hated. When you want her to be your friend, you need to assure that you be a good friend to her.- One more character I hated is Josh. I didn't expect him to be an a-h.- And yeah I read 'Kat' as cat for the whole book and only imagined a cat. I have to remind myself everytime that she is actually a dog😂😂Rom-com lovers would love this book for sure.

Sweet & Soothing Romcom
Lucy’s one wrong decision cost her losing her business and nearly ended her friendship with her childhood best friend. To make her best friend happy, she joined a yoga retreat where she met the calm, charming, and never-on-time Zack and disliked him immediately. After losing everything, Lucy can't lose the chance to buy her childhood home. But Zack also wants that house. Zack makes her agree to buy it with him because she has no other choice. Lucy made a plan to make Zack irritated enough to leave the house, but Zack is more patient and leaves marks everywhere. Lucy is losing her own self in this mess. This is such a sweet and soothing story that it touches my heart. I relate to Lucy's stressful working life and her approach to life. Zack is a charmer, carefree, and so much sweeter man. The story is more plot and character-driven, and the development in both of them is magnificent, especially in Lucy. Every moment is new to me and immerses me in it, never distracting me as if I had read it before. It’s hard to remember how many times I smiled while reading this. That doesn’t mean it doesn't make me cry. It is a really amazing read. The beginning of this novel is slow, as is the romance. I didn't get an enemy's vibe, but surely dislike is present everywhere with a valid reason. I can feel the point Lucy has regarding Zack. And I love both of them.Overall, Stuck With Him is a fabulous read with hilarious banter and a unique housemate story that takes my mind off for many hours. I enjoyed every moment spent on this book.

Gorgeous story from the Queen of the northern rom com
Who knew mortgages could be romantic? (well maybe not at first 😂) but Danielle Owen-Jones has once again combined societal issues with laughter and love. This is an absolute treat and the growth of Lucy as a character and her relationship with Zack through a re-evaluation of her life is touching and brilliant.

A romcom with depth and the odd twist!
Romantic comedies are my go to genre and this ticked every box. The protagonist is, of course, flawed (shouldn’t they all be initially?) But as you read her story, you understand why she is a workaholic. I loved the slow burn chemistry between her and Zack and I also loved the way Lucy gradually develops into a more laid back character with a new perspective on life. As a fan of her debut, Stone Broke Heiress, it’s clear that Danielle Owen-Jones has a knack of taking serious issues and shining some light and laughter onto them. It’s a rare talent and I can’t wait for her next book!

Fun easy read.
Forced to live with an annoying but hot hippy, all so you can keep your treasured family home. Loved this book. The wit and panic that comes from the main characters vs the annoyingly chilled love interest is great.Lol, I, too, think those string bracelets are festering germ magnets 🤣I would recommend it to anyone looking for a light-hearted, fun RomCom
