I just cant justify the cost of the OEM filter as our water is suitable for drinking from the tap, a filter is not exactly a must have but I prefer it. The other alternative brands I was buying have jumped in price so I searched for something else and found this. The price is good and it is supposed to last longer than a regular filter which is what prompted to spend a little extra on this companies model (they have a less expensive regular life filter I was also looking at). I have only had it installed a short time so will see if the change filter light takes longer to come on - even if it doesn't it is still a good value. So far I am happy and will reorder again if cost remains stable. Installed super easy, slipped right in with no forcing or extra effort. No leaks. Water flows well. I did hold it under the running sink to fill it with water and get as much air out as possible (I do this with all replacements. After installing did the usual few jars of water to flush out "things", with nothing visible to the eye on those first few pitchers of water. All in all a worth it alternative to the more expensive options.

Going through generic products and reading reviews always make me question if it's worth saving money vs the OEM alternative. There were a few concerning review that can be deterring. I'm thankful we purchased the filter.We soaked it in distilled water for about ten minutes prior to installation. I searched the instruction manual and so did my wife, and neither saw this in there. But once installed, it was virtually ready to go. A few instances of floaters in the first few days of usage, and air bubbles took overnight to subside. But other than that it's been a great filter. We have clean, drinkable water, no leaks, no issues, and the price was so reasonable compared to the OEM filter. And this fit our GE fridge without issue or modification needed.Overall, we're very happy with the purchase. We'd buy it again. And we'd recommend it.

We have safe but off-tasking municipal water here, and this filter works for removing the off taste just as well as the original GE ones we had been using.We bought a single filter back in November to try it, and have gotten about 7 months before the water flow slowed down noticeable. I'm not sure if that's as long as the original filters but we've changed those at least once a year so it's got to be pretty close. No light yet, but going to replace it just to get the flow back up.These are much cheaper still in 3 packs (or 4 packs of the slightly-lower-tier "Advance") model -- really less than 1/4 what we were paying for the GE filters, so even if they don't last quite as long it's a good value.

Easy to install although some of the instructions are misleading. You are supposed to soak the filter in water for 15 minutes prior to installing into your refrigerator. It does tell you this in the manual just not under the installation section. It tells you to do so under the breif question and error section. I do enjoy how this item last 1 year instead of 6 months like most other filters. I only gave this item 4 stars due to instructions. The product is well worth it.

Easy to install and works for months.

Note: I just installed my second filter and after a year of use of the first one and my review is still a positive one. First review: This was easy to install if you follow the directions. I will purchase this brand again when it needs to be changed. The water tastes fresh and as good as any other filtered water. The price is reasonable, too! Thanks!

I've been using another brand for years and thought it was fine, but when I couldn't get my usual I went hunting and found Waterdrop Plus MWF Refrigerator Water Filter. It was more expensive than my usual filter, but OMG the water tastes so different with the Waterdrop Plus. I don't know how to describe it except to say the water tastes cleaner or maybe smoother is a better word. I thought my old brand was good but the water tasted pretty much like tap water; you know, with that slightly harsh edge. This water tastes cleaner. I know I'm saying this wrong, but I'm really happy with Waterdrop Plus and it will be my filter choice in the future. The ice cubes even seem to be clearer.

Fantastic off-brand filter. Second time ordering,it lasted almost 12 months, although recommended replacement per manufacturer is 6 months. Odorless and tasteless water. I will never buy the brand name, expensive one again if this one is available in the market.

Exactly what I needed and expected.

Fit properly.

First things first - these fit properly and work as advertised. EXCELLENT value for the price. Will definitely purchase again.HOWEVER - it is worth noting that the housing does not have the three little grooves that are at the bottom of the original Claris filters. That means that they dont have a "positive" seating when you put the new filter in, and it wants to slip out of the connector at the bottom of the water tank. DO NOT BE ALARMED. You just need to hold the filter in place with one hand while you shut the retainer door with the other. Once you get the door clicked shut, the filter stays in place just fine, with no leaks or other problems.
