Shift knob replacement Civic 8th Gen.
Needed to replace the shift knob in my Civic. Found this one on Amazon for a good price. The real surprising thing about this knob is if you look it up on the web as to how to replace it, you would find it. Apparently, it's too simple a operation to do for it to have info on how to do it. The hint came from looking at the knob and realizing what you have to do is grab the boot dust cover by the silver ring and pull it down then unscrew the knob and then pop the boot plastic from the mount then pull the boot cover up. You'll see how the rest goes after you get it off. Fits like factory would buy another, very good quality.

5 Minute Install
Fits great, looks great and took very little time to install in my 2006 Civic. Quality is very nice, nicer than what was originally installed by Honda.

Perfect fit!
As I've seen others report, the plastic base was cracked and unusable. I simply used the base from the original shift boot for installation. Easy install on my 2006 Civic EX.

It arrived with the top silver plastic piece stuck to the black "leather" so when I opened it, it peeled apart and left a silver film onto the black "leather" that is very noticeable. You can tell on the silver part where it peeled off and you can tell on the black where the silver stayed. Also, the "glue" that is evidently supposed to hold the bottom plastic part onto the "leather" was literally melted and slimy! It was hot out when it was delivered but it gets even hotter in cars so that glue is absolutely worthless. Overall, the product is just complete garbage. Requested a return immediately.

Correct fit and easy to replace
I was nervous about this fitting in my 2008 civic. It fit perfectly though and feels nicely. It clips into the OEM shifter knob as well (I was hoping it would) so you don't have to replace it. Good buy in the end.
