Back plastic is super tough to peel off. Didn’t stick to painted stairs. Used spray adhesive to put them up.

before the install of these carpeted stair treads my stairs hurt our bare feet, but now its more comfortable to walk up and down without wearing shoes. Which I don't allow in my home. The adhesive sticks great, even when you have to remove to adjust or clean. it sticks again and again. Very pleased with my purchase. I recommend this product.

We bought these stair runners to make our wooden staircase safer for our dog. Before, the momentum he’d gain going downstairs would cause him to slide at the bottom and we feared would one day lead to injury. Since getting these installed, he no longer slides and has great grip when descending. Highly recommend for any dog owner! Other perks: They are sound dampening and much warmer than hardwood floors in cool weather! Only downfall was that they did not come with much adhesive, but some two sided carpet tape fixed that. Customer service also went above and beyond so all and all, I highly recommend this company and product!

We bought these to make the stairs safer for our Rottie when she was recuperating from a shoulder injury. They made a huge difference. Went on easily and have remained in place for ~1year and counting. They look great and are sturdy. They get vacuumed every other week and look good as new!

The media could not be loaded.  I love the look! Seems most people (including me) struggled with removing the plastic backing... I figured it out! See in the video. I used 1 strip of carpet tape on the back of each tread.

Warm up the protective clear film with a low set hair dryer. It peeled off smoothly and much faster.

Update to my review from a few years ago: these have been on my stairs for more than 2 years and they have worked great! No slipping. High quality. It is time for me to move so I have been peeling them off the floor. There isn't even any residue. The backs still feel pretty sticky, so I have put some wax paper over them to preserve them for the move. Just an amazing product!Original review: Where I live, it is difficult to find carpet. I had to get this shipped overseas. Not a lot of companies will do that, so that was a plus for this company. The treads arrived in a timely fashion. They are of good quality. I read a number of the reviews on various aspects of installation, so I started with cleaning the stairs very well. First I dry dusted (swiffer type) and then wet mopped. Once dry, I moved to installation. The other concerning piece was pulling off the backing. First, there should be a starter corner on every tread. I didn't realize that until about tread #3. What I did that seemed to work was to take the starter corner at an angle with a wide swath and then peel it lengthwise across the middle, making an upper and lower half of left over covering. I then pulled off each half keeping my fingers close to the edges where the covering was sewn into the carpet. This seemed to make the peeling process pretty fast. As I logged back in to type this review, I noticed that there was a suggestion from the company to adhere a piece of packing tape to the covering to help out...I didn't think to try that, but can see how that might help as well. I did my best to only lay the carpet down once so as to not diminish the adhesive. I've been up and down the stairs about 5 times now without any problems. I'm reluctant to give adhesion 5 stars until I make it a few months with these things. Will reevaluate then.

These are WELL worth the money! They are so easy to install, STAY PUT no matter what (we’re using them on hard wood) and look very clean and nice. They have prevented falls and are holding up very well so far after a few months on a busy stairwell in a house with kids.

These were the second set of stair tread carpets we've installed. This one is so much better than the first set, though it is also more expensive. Comparing to others these carpet strips have great adherence, a nice molded bull nose, and really soft and comfortable surface. We really like them and so our two aging golden retrievers. ;)

I can't say more than fantastic stair treads! After watching the areas of trouble my dogs were having in older age with slipping on stairs- which included the 'lip or nosing' of the tread. I spent hours reading reviews- these treads had great reviews - most did not, relatively inexpensive and work well. They look acceptable - nothing fancy, super easy to care for, they are firmly in place with the provided adhesive - even with 500 lbs of people & dogs going up & down repeatedly throughout the day.(My only wish was I could have avoided 'made in China' but it did not seem to exist - even with high end treads - I can buy them in Canada but I can't find an alternative.)

Product is good and easy to install.Just make sure you count the treads before installing. Someone at Amazon can't count to 14. There was only 13 in my shipment and needed 14 as advertised. Didn't realise until I had stuck 80% down.Amazon wouldn't send the one tread out I needed. Offered a small refund but that is useless as I only want one tread and you have to buy 14. The refund doesn't cover the 14! So I either send back the lot which will be useless to anyone now and only add to landfill or accept a useless refund and the problem isn't solved.

They got here quickly and look nice. They were relative easy to instal, a little work peeling off the thin back layer. At this point can not comment on durablity but the construction is nice and solid.
