It’s a great book. I really enjoyed being able to read when I had the time (span of three weeks) and feel like I’m right on track with the main characters and their “conversations”

Tripping the Fantastic of Energy Work
"The Fire from Within" was an easy read compared to another Castaneda book I read years ago, "Magical Passes". One key message I enjoyed was about getting past our obsession with ourselves simply for how much of our energy is freed to do other things,There were a number of incredible stories in "The Fire from Within" that highlight the difference between how I was taught Reiki and how I teach Reiki. I wonder if all teachings can claim these big differences or if they are specific to the naguals. All in all, this was a good read for anyone who enjoys reading about different ways to work energy.

a Literary Wisdom Treasure - the ancient wisdom of the New Seers.
This book transcends a rating system since it is the revealed wisdom of ages of wisdom. The ancient shamans of the new world were devastated by the conquests; but, the survivors, the new Seers, kept the essentials, and since they were forced to secrecy, they refined the wisdom teachings. They kept the essential aspects, guided by their Seeing, and discovered new principles.Wisdom is revealed that living things are assemblages of sentient superstrings and that we may rearrange our assemblages to be free of the limitations of the world we perceive. We. are entangled. We can seek freedom through the creation of the double and engage in non-local activities. There exist sentient beings who are not inhabitants of our current world view, the inorganic beings. There is so much more to reality than the outdated paradigm of mechanical materialism. Those who criticize this as a rehashing of other ancient wisdom teachings definitely did not understand what was said here. Those who criticize this work for lack of character development must have mistakenly thought they were reading a fictional novel and not a true accounting of tales which transcend the ordinary.Warning, you cannot comprehend this through intelligence and ego, you must have some experience with the higher forms of perception, the second and third attention: or at least some experiences with deep meditation or 'the seventh sense'. This book is about stopping the mind and accessing direct perception. If you are a searcher for higher wisdom and have experienced more than the ordinary, then this book is a timeless treasure.

Either it's true or the truth is crazier than is presented.
The Fire From Within is a marvelous book - both in content and presentation. I couldn't ask for better. Castaneda writes with what he calls "intent" and that means that he can manipulate your mind without your consent. The genius that it would take to accomplish such a feat would alone be enough to say that the books are of significance. The Fire From Within is the last teachings on the art of awareness. Don Juan and Don Genaro walk Carlos through deep territory and vast realms. The worlds beyond peripheral are fantastic and the lessons imbued with transcendent meaning. To truly grasp the full depth of this writing takes something that you won't have on the first reading and may never have. To get it takes a mind of resolve.Read it; don't read it. It all depends on you.

Meh
I liked the teaching of don juan, and found it to contain some good messages. Unfortunately every other book i have read after that of the castenda series has been a let down. This one i got bored with the repetitive attempts to explain pseudoscientific psychological terms. Like it would have been more engaging if it was told from more of a narrative humanist perspective.

Impeccability and the Art of Facing Infinity...
Castenda gives hints and clues toward and ancient philosophy. Specifically he deal's with "Petty Tyrants" - those who use their position and abilities to enslave or torment others - and teaches the reader the art of facing them without flinching. It is thought, that if one can do this successfully, repeatedly, he can face anything the universe can throw at him. This is the subtle art of becoming Impeccable. Also reccomended in the superhero 101 collection is Bouris Mouravieff's Gnosis I, Ouspensky's In Search of the Miraculous, and everything by Georges Gurdjieff.Fight the Future, Save the World.

The enlightened Kundalini Fire in the terminology of Carlos Castaneda.
This book describes in Toltec terminology the happenings and whereabouts of Kundalini Fire, the Sleeping Serpent, the Mystery of Mysteries, I have seen this in action. In countries like Mexico, etc. What is written in the book "Fire from Within" are confirmations of years (decades of parapsycholical research) that I have participated in. If anyone calls the highest state of enlighenment "Crown chakra illumination" or "Entering into the third attention," it is still the same.

My doubt ruined my reading. Don't read my review or it may ruin yours too.
This is one of the last books in a series of books that cultural anthropologist Castaneda wrote about his apprenticeship with a sorcerer. This book has great informative value if it's true indeed. Castaneda, who showed no evidence of his stories was critiqued prior to this book because of the inconsistencies of timeline and character appearances in his previous books, that suggested that he may be be making it all up.So in this book is that the sorcerer repeatedly alters Castaneda's states of consciousness, and whenever he enters another one he has no recollection of the other (except for the normal one). And guess what: it turns out he's been doing it all along! So basically he only remembers what happened in a certain state of consciousness when he's in it, which explains the inconsistencies in the previous books -- and I couldn't help thinking that this is exactly what he's doing! He spends much of the book trying to explain inexplicable things on which -- consequently -- he does a quite poor job, thats a bit bad if you start reading it as fiction. But either way it's a nice read, pretty inspiring and at times very interesting. When I was reading it I often taught of Márquez, who makes me believe (more subtly) that magic is still happening, except of course he's a better author. But Castaneda' not bad either..

Magnificent
The teachings of Don Juan recorded in this book make up the most profound illustration of life it is possible to read. They are on a par with the greatest spiritual teachers of all time, but from a totally different mould and language. Reading these words, it is necessary to concentrate utterly, as they contain such a depth of meaning. The connections it is possible to make with other teachings on awareness are thrilling. After finishing it I just had to start from the beginning all over again, it has so much to absorb. Carlos Castaneda is such a surperb writer, his command of language and ability to communicate so vividly his teacher's being, illustrate the power that the teaching has given him.

Excellent read 10 out of 10
Very insightful into how one should live their life, it gives a different view of the world and challenges the ideas and beliefs that we have be taught whilst also providing simple methods to changing your thinking and behaviours with how we interact with the world on a day to day basis.I really enjoy reading these series of books, they go far deeper to answering the questions about our purpose than anything else that I have ever read.

Good
Good presentation, however these stories are supposed to be based on fact, I think Carlos has taken to much devil weed at this point.
