Is it comfortable to drink from with the lid off?

Yes, it's fine - to be honest, I haven't actually used it with the lid on very often. I assume you're asking because it's a metal mug? It's not like drinking from a single-walled (camping style) metal mug, it's insulated, and doesn't get anywhere near as hot. As long as the fluid in it is at a safe temperature to drink, it's every bit as good as a china or ceramic mug, if not better. This is now my daily use mug - even without the lid it keeps my coffee warmer for slightly longer than a ceramic mug would, and it's every bit as comfortable to use. Hope this helps.

Is the contigo streeterville desk mug fully leakproof? the description only mentions contents not being easily spilled, which isn't the same thing
