This is an excellent little book! I'm so glad my husband got it for me - the hair styles aren't all flattering on me, but at least I have the techniques at hand!

This book is a rare treat for those wondering how women of the Swing Era got their hair to do such incredible things. While the photos can be a bit tricky to decipher, verbal descriptions bring everything into focus. The photos are, by today's standards, quite simple, but considering this is a republication of a vintage book, you can't ask for much better.This will certainly come in handy for me and my friends as we Lindy and Bal our way through the year with all it's opportunities to don our vintage.

I bought this book for my sister - and she loves it! The book is really easy to follow, and the hair sytles are easy to master. Would love to see more books like this out there!!

I've created some fancy fingerwaves, I also tried pin curls, guess I'll make it with some more practice. My hair might be a bit too long for some of these hairstyles, and I find it really easy to use heat rollers, but it's fun to mix the instructions from the book with the hairstyles I already know how to handle.I'll always keep the book, so that when I become an old lady I'll still have excellent hair.Thanks a lot.

I ordered this book. Hate it. All the hairstyles were drawings. Everything looked so difficult. There were only a few pages. It was such a small book for such a large price that I payed.Instead, if you are looking for that retro look I recommend:Vintage Hairstyling: Retro Styles with Modern Techniques (Paperback)This one has color photos of actual people. Its step by step. It will put a smile on your face.
