Interesting ideas
Jalapeno Madness is a very comprehensive collection of recipes, but the recipes themselves are a little vague. If you're already a decent cook, then the recipes are a good enough inspiration for you to be able to get the job done. For example, the Jalapeno version of the traditional Beer Can Chicken is genius. I never would have thought to stuff the bird's cavity with peppers and use a pepper to plug the neck hole. The result was outstanding. It wasn't too hot, but had a very sweet peppery flavor. On the other hand, the recipes for grilled stuffed peppers are pretty vague. They basically amount to something like: "take a pepper, core it out, stuff it with some cheese & things, and grill it for about 15 minutes..." My wife saw me making the cheese stuffing and gave me her old standard, "you're not working from a real recipe, are you?" (which is her gentle way of accusing me of just winging it). So I showed her the recipes in the cookbook. She just rolled her eyes and said, "your book was written by a guy, wasn't it?" (Should I be offended?)The recipes cover every hour of the day: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc. They also cover various holidays. I can't complain about the variety of the recipes; in that regard, they're very creative. But the level of detail just isn't what I am used to with my other cookbooks. But yeah, I'm a dumb guy... Who needs instructions, right?Again though, I would approach these recipes more as "inspirations" than exact recipes. But as long as you're willing to be adventuresome and take responsibility for your own creations, the book contains some pretty cool ideas. Use your own skills to make them happen.

Purchased this as a gift for my dad who competes in a jalapeno cook off every year. I figured that he could find some inspiration, and that's exactly what he did. Lovely recipes laid out by category. Very user friendly book, I will be ordering more of Michael's cook books for myself!

FABULOUS!!!!
I LOVE this new book!!! So much so that I ordered Michael's Chili Pepper Madness and his Kindle book Chili Pepper Madness: Sauces.I am a huge chile (and garlic) head and I have an appreciation for the "it hurts so good" experience of spicy peppers (including habanero).I can't WAIT to try the recipes from this book. There is more of a variety (including some very unique ones like Jalapeno Ice Cream)than many books on chile peppers.I am looking forward to Michael's future books and will purchase them all!!!!Now to find some guinea pigs to try these recipes on....smile!GREAT job, Michael! :) :) :)

Good Jalapeno Recipes
There's tons of recipes in here and so far, the ones I've tried have been really good. Several different cooking methods as well. Only giving it 4 stars, as there are no photos.

Some recipes using Jalapenos that are pretty good. I was more interested in the stuffed jalapeno recipes, as I was purchasing a jalapeno holder that could hold stuffed peppers on the grill or in the oven. Worth the purchase price.

Jalapeno Madness: Jalapeno Recipes Galore
Although the book binding was not well done, the book itselfis a work of art.... it is definitely a labor of love and showsthat throughout! Would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone withan interest in Jalapeno peppers and eating them or anyone wantingto learn. I have about 1300 cookbooks and this is definitely oneof my favorites. Also, the author has a great website and I would recommend it aswell.
