I just received this lock today and installed it in about 15 mins into a metal door with a wooden door frame. The package had enough hardware, but five of the screws were shorter than the other three, so I found five longer screws and used those instead. The lock also comes with two shims for the mounting flange in case you need to make it level with the hinged loop. I had to use one of the shims, so it was good that I had longer screws. The lock feels sturdy and so far it seems to be tightly in place. It has an attractive bronze finish which I also like. Time will tell if it holds up. If I have any issues with it, I will try to do an update. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Originally got this to keep our toddlers from running out the front door, but turns out it’s quite sturdy! I feel like it’d take a 267 lb nfl linebacker a few rushes to actually bust thru... great defense!Caught my older boy with both feet on the wall, pulling hard with all his might and rushed over thinking he’d pop out the screws... that thing didn’t budge!Also, easy to install, even if both sides aren’t flat or even, the lifer backings (comes w/ a few just in case and I only used one on the door b/c our frame molding is both curved and also not flat w/ the door. Procrastinated for a few days, then once I got the drill out it only took a few minutes, and it looks great!

This lock feels substantial when installed. Now let me say this up front, locks like these are only a good as the door frame it's attached to. I used longer screws and installed backing plates in between the door frame and 2x4 behind. I recommend pulling off the door molding and put blocks in between the frame and 2x4 if not you'll be able to kick it in easily. It does install easily and if installed properly will add an extra level of protection.

I installed this on a metal door with wood framing. The product is well engineered, very sturdy, and came with custom shims/risers which I had to use. The end result is an understated yet classy piece of hardware that makes my back door more secure, without having to go through the hassle of installing a deadbolt into a metal door. If you take your time, read the instructions, and use the proper drill bits, this is a good way to add security to your home.

Easy to install, Works even if you have trim around door on inside. They include shims in package to shim piece that mounts to door so that it will easily install. No issues whatsoever. Remember though, if someone really wants to break in to your place they are going to find a way. This does provide a secondary latch/locking system, which is nice.

We knew we needed an extra lock on our door when we discovered our 3 year old could unlock and open the door. I searched Amazon and came across this lock. We love it because it has an added feature which prevents it from being unlatched from the outside. This gives added protection for our daughter and makes me feel safer at night! My husband didn't complain so I think it was easy to install. Highly recommended!

The product is suitable to latch a door. All joints are hollow as attch. I drilled out the joints, and installed actual solid pins before installing.Breaking the hollow pin joints will require a heavy duty push and would likely rip your door too. It's unlikely you will break the hollow pins by forgetting the latch is on.

I used to remodel houses, and it always blows my hubby away when I install something like this. I did not have a problem using a pencil, a cordless drill + 1/8 composite drill bit, small level, and a Phillips manual screw driver (didn’t want to damage or strip out the screws). They’re beautiful and go perfectly with my existing door hardware. I couldn’t be happier with this solution to keep my toddler in the house!
