When we started to re-decorate the house neither of us wanted to go back to the old shelf risers and brackets that we had before. That's not to knock spur, they are damned good at what they do, they're just not very attractive. It was a difficult choice as there are so many different ways to hang shelves these days. But, the shelves my wife wanted to use are too thin for the hidden suspension bars that are popular, which meant we had to get something a bit more visible but not "in your face" so to speak. I stumbled on these while browsing for brackets and we bought some to see how they looked and whether they would work. Have to say, perfect. Fitting was simple, though we did want to make sure they were secure on the wall. Nobody wants things falling down once some weight is added. Depending on the walls you have, you may need to invest some in good quality fixings. This bracket only grabs a relatively small area of shelf, so they need to be very securely mounted to the wall or there will be problems. If you have some skills in woodworking, you can perhaps carve out a small shallow notch in the wood for these to sit in - which will hide them better. I don't have that skill so they are simply screwed to the bottom of the shelf. You can rotate these and fix them to the top of the shelf to hide them further if you so desire. But again, you need to be careful both with the quality of the shelf and how much weight you put on it. Top mounting is slightly more likely to tear out if you are not careful. A through and through fitting like a securing bolt may be better for top mount. The nut can always be countersunk if the shelf will allow it. Or perhaps a decorative cover to hide it. Anyway. Fitting these took minutes, with a laser or spirit level to make sure they are set properly you shouldn't have crooked shelves. They are quite heavy and thick and stronger than I thought they would be. While we don't have a great deal of weight on the shelves these support, they show no signs of struggling to hold what is there. As far as I can tell, it is all secure and tight. They are definitely more attractive than spur shelving, and most so than a lot of other similar bar and bracket type mounts. We will definitely be buying more when we get round to the other rooms in the house. The other nice thing about these, you can mount the shelves however you want. No need to have regimented rows if you want to stagger the display. Should have used this sort of thing years ago. Money well spent.

Strong. Small, brilliant. So easy to fit.

I'm pretty pleased with the result, but it was hard work. The instructions are non existent so I had to use the photos on amazon as a guide. The triangles go under the shelf, and the smaller back goes on the wall. Check. The photos show the bracket back going upwards, and also downwards, so I had to assume they work either way. As I wanted nearly invisible shelves I had them pointing upwards. This meant that the recessions on the triangle for the screwhead were on the wrong side. It doesn't really show, so I left it. The triangular plates weren't completely flat, so the wooden shelves do not quite sit snug, but again it didn't really show. The rawl plugs do not have a size on them, so I guessed drill bit size 7 (uk). It was an 8. The wood screws aren't very sharp, so drilling pilot holes was essential. They look good-ish under the shelves, and appear to bear the weight I've put on them (half width scaffold board with bathroom bottles, tubes and tubs on them). I think just about ok for the price, but be prepared for a bit of faffing. Hope these notes help other buyers.

These work great! We needed something super unobtrusive for a shallow white wooden shelf and they’re perfect. Strong, blend in seamlessly with the wood and the wall, and ensure that the shelf stays level (the fixings it came with were useless and it kept falling down before). Highly recommend!
