This is the book that will get young boys reading! The story is cleverly written with an appealing, albeit scruffy looking main character that imaginative young boys can readily relate to. Tom is likely oblivious to the fact that he's a good kid with good values as well as being really funny. Motivated by one of my favorite foods, Max is an odd looking little dog with a weird and wonderful tail and is totally captivating. The English/American dictionary was so interesting and a really nice intro into a fun and adventurous story that I read happily to my nephew and will do so again and again. The satisfying end suggests a sequel - I would love to read more of Max The Flying Sausage Dog and his cute little owner...

DELIGHTFUL!
Touches all the bases: fun, adorable characters, heartwarming story, altruistic values, and sweet illustrations. Tom is the kind of child that embodies the good in us all, and his little friend Max is a delight. The story line is fresh and playful and reinforces the notion that doing the right thing is the only real choice! Add to that the charming cartooning. A boy and his dog ...what’s not to like? My grandson will love it!

THIS TAIL IS A WIENER...!
Children of all ages will delight in the adventures of Max and Tom. The illustrations are priceless and the characters...adorable. As an educator of young children, I can't wait to introduce my students to the antics of this heart-warming duo. I am really looking forward to the next entries in this fantastic new series!

Absolutely charming
An endearing tale with brilliant drawings that cleverly communicate exactly what this "sausage dog" was feeling. Kids got immediately absorbed. Wonderful introduction for children to understand how their English words are understood in England.

Great new character in childrens literature
Max the flying sausage dog like all the best classic stories for children appeals to all ages. I am 60+ but a kid at heart and I have just read Max to my 6 year old grandson. We both really enjoyed it and he was as enthralled by the story as I was, paying close attention right to the end. The illustrations serve to bring Tom and Max and their family to life and the first question of my grandson was, "can you read me another story about Max?" I thoroughly recommend it to all 6 and 60 year olds.

I read Max the flying sausage dog to my granddaughter Mia and she was utterly entranced. For ages she has been nagging her mum for a dog, and she thought the idea of a dog being able to fly was so magical and so much fun. Having a pet that could fly over a traffic jam while mum and dad sit fuming in their car sounds wicked. This creation, like the magic carpet of old, offers the writers limitless adventures to exciting and far flung parts of the planet. Can't wait for the next one.
