TL:DR - It Works!I wanted to use my 11th Generation Fire 10 HD tablet run a Software Defined Radio (SDR) dongle with the SDR Touch Android app. The dongle gets its power and communicates through it USB-A male connector, and the tablet has a USB-C receptacle. In order to get the tablet to provide power to the SDR dongle, I needed to 2 things:- Put the tablet in USB Host Mode.- Get a USB On-The-Go (OTG) adapter, like the Henrety USB-C to USB OTG Adapter.Fire tablets are not, by default, set to USB Host Mode, and normally acts as a Device. USB Host Mode mode enables the tablet to act as a Host, which allows it to power other Devices through its USB port. I will not explain how to set up USB Host Mode, because it is non-intuitive, and can be better explained by searching the Internet with the term "USB Host Mode" in reference to the Fire tablet.The USB OTG adapter is special because it has a pin in it set to Ground, whereas in normal USB cables, the pin is floating (not connected to anything). When a Device like a tablet or smart phone is set to USB Host Mode, and it sees the grounded pin on what is plugged into its USB port, this signals the Device to act like a Host (i.e. like a computer) and provides power through its USB port, rather than accepting power for being recharged. If an OTG adapter is not plugged into the USB port, then the tablet or phone will behave as a Device and recharge as normal when plugged into a charger, battery bank, or computer.This Henrety USB-A female to USB-C male adapter works perfectly. If I could suggest an improvement, it would be to add a LED to show the user that it is receiving power from the USB Host Mode device.

I use these daily on 3 different computers. Mostly for hubs for keyboard and mouse. I have noticed zero latency, I have not tried transfer as I rarely need it. But the build quality is great. I’ve had zero issues. I even bought a second pack. And it matched the colors of all 3 MacBooks fairly well!

3 pack of adapters works as advertised.Note to uses of MacBook Air 15" M4 2025 - the Thunderbolt ports on this laptop are spaced so that you can only use one adapter at a time.

These work, BUT, if you have a case on your phone it or are using it with another dongle attachment it may not fit.

The adapters work well to make my external usb hard drive cables compatible with the Thunderbolt ports on my new Mac Mini. I have experienced no issues.

I was able to use some old cables that I had around the house, love the price of the item I saved my self some good money by just buying this adapters. Great buy.

The price was perfect for the set of 3 adapters. My new computer only has lightning ports and I didn't really want to get something as large as a dock.

I use this to connect to my phone and they work great. Connecting keyboards, connecting ethernet adapters, connecting capture cards, connecting cameras. It all just works with this. Can even throw on a USB hub and add even more items. Must have if you use your phone for a lot of techie type of purposes.
