Versatile and Sturdy
I have been searching for quite awhile for a compact ladder that would store easily and not bump into walls and furniture when moving it around the house or garage. This ladder was a perfect fit for those needs. It is quite easy to extend and stores very nicely on my slat wall. This particular ladder is the 10.5' version and easily allows me to access up to the top of my 9' ceilings. Fully collapsed, with the removable hooks attached, it is only 36" high and weighs a mere 18 pounds. The instruction manual is adequate, but your best instruction is to actually start using the ladder. The locking clips snap into place as they should but I would recommend you making sure you confirm that they are latched before climbing it. I found that you don't have to have all the sections extended to use it. My pictures show this. When collapsing the ladder, start from the lowest sections first. The instructions mention this, but it isn't immediately obvious why until you try it for yourself. Make sure you are supporting the upper sections and gently lower them when you release the locks... and keep your hands out of the way! The upper section that you are collapsing can come down quickly if you're not supporting it.Overall I'm very happy with it.

Pretty good ladder, exactly what I needed for my car's roof rack
I wanted a collapsible ladder that I could rook onto my new Gobi roof rack for my Jeep. Something a bit sturdy, and more importantly that could hook onto the roof rack itself. Saw this and got it, and am pretty pleased. It collapses to about 3ft; it's not small, but it sure is sturdy. Had this propped into the dirt on Mt Pinos during the recent meteor shower so I could climb on top of my vehicle. Having the hooks on top made it super secure.Another thing I liked is when collapsing the rungs, the it doesn't close "all the way" at first. It keeps about a 2-inch clearance until you collapse the next rung. Basically this allows you to hit the release latches and let the top section slide down unassisted, without worrying about it slamming onto your fingers. Makes tear-down/collapsing it super-easy!Fully collapsed it's still a decent heft, and not the smallest thing in the world. But it does collapse, and lightweight for most to carry by themselves. You're not going to get something sturdy and easy-to-climb without some size, and I say the trade-off is well worth it!(Apologies for the dim photo! But you can see how the ladder is propped onto the side of my vehicle, and its top hooks are secured over my roof rack)

"RIKADE" Ladder. Bad Name For a Decent Ladder!
I just received my ladder and, for the price, I am quite happy. It feels pretty solid and sturdy. It's lightweight, but not so much that it feels like it's of poor quality. I haven't used it yet, as it is for use somewhere else, but I am fairly confident it will be just fine. I am, however, just now realizing that the ladders brand name is "RIKADE" which, depending on how you pronounce it can be read as "Rickety" as in "a rickety old ladder that needs to be replaced immediately, because it is no longer safe to use!". That realization is a bit disheartening! Oh well! I guess we'll find out if the name is misleading or dead on...

Perfect for loft
Let me tell you, I have looked and looked and priced and priced all kind of ladders that would give me access to my loft and still fit flush against the wall when not in use. I prices such ladders somewhere between $500 (DIY) & $2500. I found this on Amazon and thought what the heck, let me try it. Amazon has a good return policy and if it doesn’t work I’ll just send it back. This ladder was around $80 for me and it works perfectly! It retracts enough to climb the ladder and feel secure and then I can fit it flush against the wall when not in use. I’m very pleased with this purchase and more pleased with the amount of money I saved going with this option. Highly recommended.

Sturdy and well engineered
This is bigger and heavier than I imagined or would need for myself but it’s impressive! I bought it because my promaster van group recommended and I liked the hook option to help me get on top of my van’s roof and back down. It seems very sturdy and I like that the hooks can spin so I can use them to hang the ladder in my van or a garage for home use. The hooks are also removable and the product comes with two extra locking mechanisms should one on the ladder break. Another nice feature is that each step locks so you could use it at 3, 5, 7 feet without extending the whole ladder. It collapses rung by rung so no need to worry about smashing fingers. It holds 330lbs and feels very sturdy. I chose this ladder vs a fixed ladder on the van because those cost around $700 and I wont need it for daily use. I spent about $93 which was higher than I wanted but for a sturdy and versatile ladder I’m happy. I chose the black finish because it’ll match my van better and hopefully hook nicely to my roof rack once that is installed.

Works well
Got this ladder for our bunkbed in the guest bedroom. It is sturdy and a necessary addition as the tiny narrow ladder which is built into the bunkbed could only be used by a chimpanzee or small agile child. When not in use packs down into a small unit which is easily stored in the closet of the bedroom.

Uncomfortable to use.
We bought this for our son’s tiny house and it looks great, is easy to store and use but it is uncomfortable to use barefooted because the steps are so narrow and angled weirdly, it hurts the bottoms of your feet . Something I never would have thought would be a problem. He will be getting a different ladder next payday.

Strangely a Best Purchase covering quite some time
Purchased for convenient and safe attic access, this ladder has worked beautifully. It stores nicely in our laundry area, taking up very little space. The issues (minor to me) that some others noted in reviews are accurate: (1) one really need wear shoes using the ladder since the rungs are indeed painful on naked feet, and (2) lowering the ladder is not for the faint-hearted, as one needs to take care of where their hands are located during the process, and lowering the last couple sections feels and sounds like a freight train passing between your hands. Also do note that I secured boards into my attic to effectively use the ladder's top-hooks, which makes this ladder super secure.

A great option to access attic
I wanted a ladder that could reach through a small attic hatch in a small bedroom closet. This ladder is inexpensive, long enough to go right up into the roof, and it is easy to carry and set up inside the cupboard. (A regular stepladder was hard to move into position.) The mechanism works well – extending the ladder is fast, but each step must be separately unlocked to fold it up again. (You need to watch your fingers!) I prefer this mechanism to some similar ladders where collapsing one step will automatically collapse the ones below in sequence. I like the hooks on top of the ladder. It makes it easy to fix the ladder firmly onto a beam. It's a good compromise – sturdy enough to climb safely and light enough to carry. When folded down, it takes up very little space, and can easily be leaned against a wall like a small suitcase, or hung from a shelf. After buying the ladder, I got an offer for some gift (a $30 value) if I left a five-star review. I am leaving a five star review because I genuinely liked the ladder and I think it deserves it, but don't bribe your customers!

Excellent telescoping ladder
Purchased this ladder about a month ago as I was looking for a space-saving telescoping ladder. This is an excellent ladder for light to medium duty use. I am using it for interior painting, had one occasion to use it to get up to the eaves. The feet have a rubber grip base which provides adequate slip protection, although as with any ladder, care is required to ensure that the base is well placed and secure on the ground. The two hooks at the top is another feature I was looking for as it provides an additional degree of safety. To retract the ladder, you need to use both hands to push the two sliders inside - be really careful here as the ladder will retract downwards quickly. Make sure you keep your fingers away when you retract because it comes down hard and fast. There are sufficient warning stickers placed all over the ladder alerting users to this. I believe this is the case with all telescoping ladders.I'm about 175lbs and as I go up it does lean in but this is par for the course for a lightweight ladder. I like that I can carry it under my arm and moving it around to different areas is a lightweight task.Overall, I am pleased with this ladder as it meets my needs quite nicely at the right price point.

Surprisingly sturdy and light but does slide at bottom on tile
Super easy to use and feels safe. Love that it comes built. But bottom does slide on our tile so we needed to put weights around bottom
