Exceeds Expectations. Bussin’ 😂
While I wasn’t expecting the world, it certainly exceeded expectations. A great gift, or even useful for map reading and hiking or driving while on a road trip. Highly recommend.

Not a Military Style Compass
I'm not sure what to make of this compass. The pluses:- It does have a magnetic arrow pointing to north and south.- It does indicate degrees from 0 to 90 for each quadrant.- It does have a magnifying glass.However, I assumed it would be more a standard style military compass.- The magnifying glass can not be brought into a position above the compass in order for you to get more precise bearings as you would with a standard lensatic compass.- There is no adjustable declination. In fact, there are no adjustments that can be made to this compass - other than your ability to rotate out the magnifying glass.- It mentions both metric and imperial units and I have no idea what they are talking about. There are no measurements that I can find anywhere on this compass other than the 90 degree markings in each quadrant.My hope was that I could use it for navigation when my smart phone had no bars. This one generally orients me, but is too heavy and has too little functionality to bring on a long distance hike.It is attractive, the leather case is nice, and as an ornament, it looks good on a shelf.

Displeased
The case (which was beautiful) has the most awful musty smell that I had to immediately remove it from my house.I’m not even sure I can go near it to package it for a return.

Classy, antique looking compass!
Wow, this compass exceeded every expectation! The leather case is very high quality and even has nice stamped designs on it. The magnifying glass is a great addition, perfect for map reading in the field. I'm really impressed with the finish of the compass, it gives it a great antique feel. The compass is brass and feels well made. Makes the perfect gift (for yourself or others)!
