Review: Very Cool Drone / Excellent Customer Service - This is my first drone. I bought it primarily to help inspect the roof of my house (plus to goof off with😁). After doing a bit of research, I selected the Ruko F11 Mini. The price was right for me and it had all of the features that I was looking for. After unpacking and reading the instruction manuals (everything arrived nicely packaged and not damaged), I could hardly wait for the batteries and controller to finish charging. The carrying case is perfect to store/transport the drone and all accessories. Also, from my research, the battery life on this drone is second to none among similarly sized/priced drones. Once everything was charged up, time for my maiden flight. I had no trouble going thru the start-up process. I did have to turn off/on my Wi-Fi on the phone a few times to get it to locate the drone when trying to link, but this possibility was mentioned in the manual so I was prepared for it. I started flying, just trying to get used to the controls, keeping everything slow and low. I used the whole first battery just practicing. I got right at the stated 30 minutes on the first battery. The camera views were nice and clear on my phone and the ability to adjust the camera lens in a vertical plane right from the controller is awesome. Some budget drones have this feature and some do not. On the second flight, I (mistakenly) thought I was ready to start inspecting my roof. The peak of the roof is about 32 feet off the ground. All went well for a while but unfortunately I zigged when I should have zagged at some point (new pilot error), caught the drone blades on the chimney which caused the drone to flip and then tumble down the roof and, as luck would have it, right onto the concrete driveway. This drone seemed to be pretty tough, but not that tough. With tail between legs, I sent off an email to Roku inquiring about a few parts (really just the camera frame and one of the propeller arms) to see if I could get it flying again. Ruko advised that the specific parts I broke were not sold separately, however they would provide me with a new drone for free. You cannot beat that. So my lessons learned are (1) get in way more than 30 min of practice before trying to fly in any kind of tight spaces and (2) always buy from a company with great customer service like Ruko.

I think your search is over with the new Ruko F11 Mini! Coming in at just under the weight that is required for registration, the F11 is a handheld lightweight drone that gives extremely good performance. Setup is easy as you can be guided by the simple instructions, or the video guide that starts your experience inside the Ruko Mini app. It comes with two batteries, extra props, a very nice fit to your hand controller, and of course the drone itself. All packed neatly and with a little extra room inside a nice camera style pack, with shoulder strap! This to me is the clear definition of what someone should get in their first drone purchase. That means plenty of flight time, easy to understand, and will have you up and flying inside 20 minutes! The pictures and video I have included were shot on a very windy day at a local state park. The F11 performed very well in these conditions, in fact there came a point where I wondered how I was flying such a light drone in those conditions. My only suggestion would be, that in the lightweight drone category conditions for flying are paramount, unless you like buying new drones because of bad flight day decisions, as all light drones will have issues with stable flight in such conditions. I highly recommend this drone for those getting started, beginner mode (default) keeps the drone within reasonable distance and is height limited at 30m (around 100ft). This is a great comfort level to new fliers as it won’t “get away from you”. It has return to home function which worked very well as it landed the drone within 5 ft of where I was standing. In short if your thinking about this drone, buy it! You will enjoy it I can promise you that. I plan on going out with my oldest son this weekend as he is a drone lover, along with my grandson so we can all fly together. I think I have found a new hobby! Thank you Ruko for making this, and enabling me to take part in another fun family experience!!

**Q: Why is my camera so flimsy when I removed the cap off the drone?**
A: That's the "gim" part of the F11Gim. It's part of the gimbal design that helps take better pictures. Think of it as sort of a shock absorber; by allowing the camera to move as it does, it can self-level & counter some of the movement of the drone. But you're right, It does make the camera feel incredibly flimsy (I thought I had broken it the first time I took the cap off)

**Q: Since there’s no collision avoidance, how successful have you been flying this drone without crashing?**
A: It's such a stable drone once you have gps lock it will stop almost immediately and react as quick as you do on the controls. YOU are its obstacle avoidance as with almost all drones. If you don't feel coordinated enough yet then start with a cheaper drone to learn the feel of them then buy this one to appreciate the difference and picture quality.

### ⭐ Horrific product

This drone has its own mind randomly. Sometimes it responds to the controller, sometimes it does not. We lost it one day when it made up its mind to just fly away despite it just took off and I tried to make it land. Horrible product. Even after reading the instructions, there is no clue given on when this will happen. I have it set to super conservative beginner mode with very small fly altitude and range, alas it does not help.
