Great for the train (med. range) as well
I travel on the train a decent amount many times 8 - 10 hrs. This kit is great for just a cocktail or two before dinner. Sadly train travel has decreased over the years so gone are many bar/lounge cars on trains. It fits petfectly in my cooler with two nips of vodka in the cooler and a can of tomato juice as well. (Not paying $8 for one nip of vodka in the snack car) Now taste wise I found that the bloody mary mix was well seasoned and just right in spiciness. I don't like extra spicy so on the first drink I tried it without rimming the cup with the rimming salt. Second drink I made I tried rimming the glass with the rimming salt which is actually a cajun spicy seasoning called slap ya momma. My lips were burning! Still drank it but wow that made it hot! The pickles they included kinda puzzled me. Celery ok but a pickle? I ate them seperately not in my drink. Still the kit was enough to relax me with two drinks so 5 stars. Why this product loses 1 star though is the bottle the bloody mary mix came in. No safety seal. That kind of bothered me because the package is not shrink wrapped or anything. Now the last part of my review addresses the other reviewers who complained that its too expensive for 2 drinks and its not refillable. YES IT IS. Do a search on Amazon for Bloody Mary Mix and you will find plenty. I personally refill mine with Dimitri's Mix and it even has a small spout so it makes refilling the little container in this kit easy. Yes you can reuse the bottle it will not leak and it is TSA compliant size. The seasoning mix is a little more tricky but personally I felt it was too hot for my taste. Still its called slap ya mamma cajun seasoning and available on Amazon but Im not sure how you can put that in the tin as it came in a little packet. The pickles? I guess you could get one of the mini pickle cups or the small snack size pouches that a few convienence stores sell but I just don't think a pickle belongs in a bloody mary.....

PSA: THIS ITEM IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURNS | Expensive Travel Gift You Can Pass On
I'm sure this is a cute gift to give someone (although not a very cost efficient one) but I was pretty disappointed.I bought it for that exact reason - a seemingly cute gift that I heard about through one of those Christmas Guides. I purchased the Gin & Tonic kit alongside the Bloody Mary version for my brother's travel themed birthday gift. Unfortunately, the duo arrived about two days after the promised date. I kept them in their original packing, logged onto start a return, and discovered that returning them wasn't an option at all, actually. Bummer. (Especially because of the price... ouch)Because I was stuck with it, I opened it up and took a look. I recommend once you receive these to immediately look on the back of the tin for a small expiration date sticker. I didn't have problems with this one in particular but the Blood Mary one had only five months left. The items come in a nice, small tin with some cute branding on the inside stating "WHEELS UP." It's cute.I was a bit disappointed that the actual bottle of tonic was slightly sticky and has a faint residue on it. It also had a bunch of small particles floating inside and I'm none the wiser if that's how it's supposed to look so I'm just mentioning in case it's not.I think it's important to note that this entire kit is SUPER dependent on getting the bulk of the ingredients from the actual flight attendant. For some this may be obvious but it's important to reiterate as it keeps bringing down the cost efficiencies of having something like this. Yeah you have some cute utensils and a bottle of Tonic Syrup, but you still have to pay for the mini bottle of Gin on the plane so how much are you really saving? Unless you're getting this for the novelty of making your own drink on a flight. The instructions aren't too bad but leave a bit to be desired. It states to use the provided jigger to measure a 1/2 oz of tonic syrup...but to do that do you fill up the entire jigger provided or fill it up half way? It doesn't specify. Finally, the cloth napkin came all bunched up in the bag like how you bunch up clothes when you toss them in the hamper. Doesn't impact its use but it looks pretty bad. Would have been better had they folded it up and put it inside - there's plenty of room.I'm unable to speak about the actual taste it derives but just wanted to give a warning to be absolutely sure of what you're buying before you do. These are preeeettty expensive and you'll be stuck with them regardless!

Nice gimmicky gift, probably not worth it for personal use
These kits are a little pricey on a per-cocktail basis, but I got a few as stocking stuffers, and the sub-$20 price is perfect for a Yankee Swap. People have tended to love getting them as gifts, especially for frequent travelers. For whatever reason, this Bloody Mary kit was a bit cheaper than the others at the time when I purchased it, although now it looks like the price has rebounded (from $15 up to $23). The plus of the Bloody Mary kit is that you can drink them on a morning flight too!In terms of the actual drink, the volume of the Bloody Mary mix certainly makes for a much smaller Bloody Mary than usual. The pickles are a neat little touch. The rimming salt is near useless though, IMO. It seems like it would make too much of a mess to try and apply it to a cup in-flight. You could just sprinkle a bit on top of the drink for flavor though.

Best travel gift, just a little overpriced
I got this as a travel gift for my boyfriend before our long plane ride to Italy. This is the coolest packing idea and I love that it is so minimal. The design is very urban/hipster stylistic and he absolutely loved it! It comes with a little metal bar spoon and a half ounce jigger along with tonic syrup, a recipe card, and a little linen coaster for your drink. It does not include gin which is probably a good thing since you add your favorite gin of choice. It comes with enough tonic syrup for two perfect little cocktails. The only thing I don’t like about this product is how overpriced it is. Twenty-three dollars for some tonic syrup with a spoon and a tin is a bit extreme. But the packing is cute so I bought it anyways. Since it is such a nice size to travel with I will probably just end up making a tonic syrup to refill that bottle instead of buying another kit.

No Gin, no Tonic
For the cost I would have expected a small bottle of gin. a metal tin plus spoon, gel and napkin is a little steep in price!I also think it should be advertise clearly that there are NO liquids (gin or soda)!!
