EarthQuaker Devices Hoof V2 Germanium/Silicon Hybrid Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal

The EarthQuarker Hoof is a versatile Fuzz Petal that can create lighter overdrive/sustain styles of fuzz as well as gritty harder styles. It is capable of fairly clean overdrive/boost type settings as well. On my samplings, so far, it sounds quite different with each of my guitars. But, make no mistake, amazing tones were dialed in on every guitar I tried. Of course, the pedal itself has many different settings available to further sculpt the sound as well. What I have just described is more distinct with the Hoof than any other pedal I've tried. Not sure what's going on, but it's pretty great. Beyond that, for a lot of what I play, I don't need to worry about where it is on my pedal board, or what's in front or behind... I can just turn it on and forget the other pedals entirely. All by itself it's amazing. This is weird and highly unusual in my experience. But, yes, of course, trying different combos of pedals is half the fun. Well, this pedal will also play well with others and can definitely reap shockingly cool and even unexpected results in the right combination. The hype is real.

Terrific pedal! Can be incredibly loud, but can be tamed. The relationship between the tone and shift knobs is the best thing about this pedal, something I wish more fuzz pedals had. Counterclockwise the shift knob produces a boosted signal compared with the clockwise direction, which really scoops the sound/removes the mids. There's a lot of room to customize the relationship between the two knobs, so many different fuzz tones can be created. Speaking of fuzz, it has about as much gain as an EHX Big Muff (I have one and I've compared), but it cleans up considerably better than the Muff, which doesn't really clean up at all. All in all, great pedal from Earthquaker Devices (this is my second and won't be my last)!

I really appreciate the versatility of this pedal. Also works great at lower fuzz levels. Does not clean up much with the guitar volume control like a fuzz faze style circuit does as this is based more on the muff style of circuitry. Great for Black Keys type of tones. If you want a fuzz that cleans up look more towards fuzz face style circuitry. That said I can highly recommend this pedal. Its solid reliable, high quality and classic! You cannot go wrong...

Well worth the price. Amazing tones, ripping fuzz, great Earthquaker quality. This could be one of the best fuzz pedals ever. Few compare. Never disappoints.

Enhances overall sound quality, able to produce sharp fuzz & muffled down bluesy thick fuzz. Generally solid & versatile, quality pedal co for sure.

This pedal sounds pretty good, nice EQ, but wow, you can probably see the LED from space. It's blinding. I think my EHX Russian Muff sounds just as good for less than half the price.

honestly a great very versatile fuzz can go from low grit to full on doom metal , very easy to dial in , better than my old russian muff and built better too 10/10 the shift knob for mid control is a very nice touch as well

Ich bin von dem Sound begeistert, ich nutze das Gerät bisher mit meinem Cort C4-Bass und kann nur sagen, dass ich bisher keinen besseren Fuzz-Sound erzeugen konnte als mit diesem Gerät. Viel Power und optimale Anpassung auf die Frequenzen der anderen Bandmember! Daumen hoch!

El pedal hoof es una muy buena opción si es que no quieres un fuzz tan saturado y con una buena configuración también puede darte una buena distorsión, vale la pena si quieres un fuzz versátil y análogo, si lo combinas con pedales modulados te va a dar un plus muy bueno.

The hoof never leaves my board.I really like how it has so many flavors on tap.It sits well with the rest of the pedals in my herd.

Très déçu. Il y avait du Velcro et des restant de colle à l’endos de la pédale signifiant qu’elle avait déjà été utilisée. J’ai pourtant payé pour une neuve.

Pédale de qualité. Très efficace. Pas d'altération de la dynamique. Du gros son au son solo plus fuzzy, l'éventail est large et varié. J'utilise aussi avec wahwah et c'est top. Très rock'n'roll par contre, pas son FM ou métal.
