I've had several different brands of wireless chimes that I've purchased over the years from The Home Depot and Lowes. I have an old home and it was never wired for a door bell and we have always used wireless systems. My main gripes with other models are low volume, inconsistancy of operation, and the type of chime. Many models have very low volume which can make it difficult to hear. There would be times that I couldn't hear the chime because of water running or the television volume blocking out the sound. This is not the case with this Honeywell model, because it is very loud. On some other models the button may be pressed and the chime not ring. This is not the issue with this model, because it chimes every time. Last, some models sound very electronic and not like a wired doorbell, but this one sounds just like a wired system. There are other chimes to choose from, but I prefer the setting that sounds like a conventional doorbell. The button comes with a battery, but not the main unit, so you must buy four C cell batteries separately. The main unit screws directly to the wall, which I don't like (wall anchors are supplied). I could design a nice bracket to mount it in my sleep, so I don't see why Honeywell can't. And not those slots where you have to see through the unit to slip the thing on. The way it is mounted is why this is four instead of five stars. Like all the other folks have said, it is a ugly orange and not the nice wood color shown in the picture. The biggest issue is that the coloration of the unit is a misrepresentation of the actual product. There is no wood grain appearance. It is more of a solid orange-like solid color plastic panel. While some wood could potentially be that color, it seems more likely to look like a botched staining job. Regardless, Honeywell needs to update their photos to reflect actual appearance. It looks great on my wall, but not exactly as pictured on Amazon. I had to replace mine after about 1.5 years. Not terrible but not great.- It took a bit of fiddling around to figure out how to set it up.
