Great Saw!
No complaints. I've cut through 4x4s at 30 degrees and it didn't bog down or anything. The blade isn't huge, so it will only cut 3/4 of the way through a 4x4 and you'll have to go back over on the other side, but for anything else, I've ran into no issues. Very adjustable with pitch and depth. All the adjustment knobs stay well though usage, I haven't had any of them come loose. You will want to get a battery on the larger side with this, but barring that, it's a super solid tool.

Quality versatile tool.
I’ve been using this DeWalt 20V MAX Cordless Circular Saw for a 6 weeks, and it’s been a game changer. The brushless motor is seriously powerful—it can handle pretty much anything I throw at it, from plywood to 2x4s, without struggling. The 7-1/4 inch blade gives me a nice deep cut, and adjusting the bevel is super easy, especially with the detents at 22.5° and 45°—perfect for those angled cuts I need to make pretty often. One of my favorite things is how comfortable it feels. The grip is just right, so even after using it for a while, my wrist doesn’t feel strained. The LED light is a nice touch too, especially when I’m working in low light—it really helps me keep my cut line straight. The only downside? The ruler markings should be etched in color. Tough to see.

Nice saw with one HUGE issue
This is a nice saw, powerful, takes a standard skilsaw blade. It has a nice aluminum foot, good quick release hardware for angle and depth, not too heavy. Strong brushless motor. Now for the HUGE issue. Look very closely at the pics included in the item listing. I didn't catch it and ordered one. The blade is on the right side of the saw. So if you're like me and have used a standard skilsaw your whole life, this is on the wrong side. You can't see the blade like you're used to and its very hard to cut accurately. If you cut left handed this will be perfect for you.

Good quality professional saw with excellent battery life.
This is a definitely a 5 star tool. I put up a lot of T1-11 19/32in plywood siding panels on sheds and outdoor buildings much of which needs cut in place on sites with no electricity like camps and tree stands. This saw is great as it just keeps going. I can get about 1 hour of work on each battery. It is easy to adjust for both depth and angle, has a sturdy spring loaded metal blade guard and is remarkable low noise when cutting. I love it and would recommend it.

Do you really NEED another DeWalt tool?
Whether you need it or not, you will like this tool. I also own a Porter Cable 20V 6.5" circular saw, which has been carrying all the weight around here, but it is made of a lot of plastic, and is clearly a cheaper saw for a reason. This one has more power, more smoothness, more accurate cut plate guides, and less flex (it's also a lot heavier). You could argue that I didn't really need to buy it, but I was saving so much money by DIYing my last project that I figured I could splurge a bit. Another reviewer said it was the best circular saw he's ever owned, and I agree. Prior to using this, I sometimes had to decide between the convenience of the 6.5" cordless and the 7.25" corded saws I have, but the build quality on this one means it's my new go-to. The electric blade braking is a nice feature that is surprisingly fast.As a bonus, it's made in the USA, so I feel much better knowing that I'm not contributing to the deluge of cheap chinese junk overwhelming our economy.I need to go find some more wood to cut up.

Powerful, accurate, and easy to handle
This saw has excellent power and cuts smoothly through wood without struggling. The electric brake is a great safety feature and stops the blade quickly after releasing the trigger. It’s lightweight, well-balanced, and very comfortable to use for long projects.Highly recommended for anyone who wants a reliable cordless circular saw.

Cordless is the way to go
I chose Dewalt because I have their 20v system already. I debated about the 60v ones but choose to stay 20v since I'm the average homeowner weekend / occasionally need to cut something guy. I chose the 7 1/4 inch for cutting depth and also because those are the blades I already had for my previous skillsaw.I chose the bare tool because I have batteries and chargers from other Dewalt 20v tools I've bought in the past. Otherwise I would have considered the kit which comes with charger and battery. The 20V system is powerful enough for me (typical weekend home handyman with a day job). This unit is light weight - OK TBH my last one was a heavy heavy corded piece from Sears I think from 70s (a hand me down) which still works and which I keep for 'backup' so take it with a grain of salt. The 20V is also much quieter (still loud) than my older saw (airplane taking off loud). I also noticed the light bulb dimming when I started my old one :oA 5AH Dewalt battery fully charged is good for about 4hrs of on and off cutting in my hands (2x4, 2x6, etc.) I'd say I would be cutting a piece every 5-10mins. Batt was down at 1 bar but did not affect the performance of the unit - still spinning and cutting well. I am by no way a professional nor a fast cutter like what you see on Youtube / TV etc. I measure twice and cut once but I cut slowly to follow my line.I recommend the tool and Dewalt has more than sufficient performance and higher quality. I stick to the 20v and brushless (XR or Max series) lines; I understand 60v is the PRO line. Hope this all helps someone out there with this purchasing decision.

Very good circular saw.
Bare tool saw comes with a Dewalt 24T blade located in the bottom of the box. Wrench for the arbor nut located onboard at base of handle. Nice feature as I can never seem to find my wrench quickly when it comes time for a blade change. I was afraid of injuring my knuckles trying to break the arbor nut free out of the box to mount the blade it was so tight from the factory. The blade lock is effective and easy to engage for blade change.I like how clear the various markings (45 degree guide, ruler, etc.) are on the base plate. Easy to read. With a 5ah battery pack, I found this saw to be light weight in comparison to my corded (non Dewalt) saws. The light illuminates the cutting area very well. The guard retracts very easily during a cut, but springs back into place as saw is removed from cutting surface without issue. This I find is an important feature as past experiences with circular saws had the guard causing the tool to want to veer right because of the strong retraction springs. The saw cuts effortlessly for rip or cross cuts on plywood and 2x lumber at 90 or 45 degree angles. Granted this was a new blade so not surprising. I experienced no binding or kick back. Overall this is a very good tool in the XR family. The bare tool offering works well for me as I already have a number of Dewalt XR tools and batteries otherwise I would have purchased a kit. Take note that there is no case with the bare tool.
