Retains heat and easy clean up
I bought this because it intrigued me and it is so pretty. I have fallen in love with enamel coated cast iron and thought I could find a use for it. You can use both top and bottom as roasters. I also have a recipe for cobbler that the 3+ quart is perfect for. I also plan to use it for meatloaf. With the cast iron, it retains the heat well. With the enamel, it is an easy clean up. It partners well with my enameled cast iron Dutch oven. It has turned out to be a handy dish.

This is a great value for an enameled cast-iron pan and even better: It works really well!
I was planning to buy a Staub Chistera and then I saw this for less than half the price. I admit I was skeptical. I've seen some of the other Chinese-made enameled pans and they aren't very well made. Not true with this one. The lid seals well (maybe not as perfectly as Staub or Le Creuset, but close.) My first use was to make a large round loaf of sourdough bread in this and it came out perfect. Another minor point about the lid, there is no knob on the top. That's both a plus and a minus. The knob makes it a lot easier to remove the lid, but if it had a knob, it wouldn't fit in my toaster oven. Yes, I made the sourdough loaf in the toaster oven and it was perfect. I tend to use my toaster oven for as much as possible anymore, but bread has been problematic until now. The top of the loaf tends to get burnt before the loaf finishes cooking, so I haven't had much success before. This is a bit small for a traditional "dutch oven", but I was specifically looking for something that would fit my toaster oven (Breville BOV845). This is perfect for that purpose. It won't fit a whole chicken for roasting unless you split the chicken, but it can work fine with a little adjustment. The lid also functions as a separate standalone grill. I haven't used the grill alone yet, but it increases the value of the pans. I look forward to grilling a steak on it. I suspect it would work well for roasting vegetables, too.I am a fan of Lodge's regular cast-iron, but not so much their enameled products. The area along the rim where the oven and the lid meet are not enameled, so they tend to rust easily. Not really a huge deal, you just have to remember to season around the edge of the lid and the top of the pot, but the Gennua seems to be treated or pre-seasoned because it doesn't appear to be as "raw" as the lodge enameled. I left the lid in the sink wet, overnight just to check it out and there was no sign of any problem. The Gennua will work well with an induction (or electric) range as well because it is perfectly flat. That's another advantage over the Lodge enameled oven. The Lodge has a little crown on the bottom, so it doesn't sit flat like the Gennua (or a Staub). So, it's easier to use and heats more evenly on an electric or induction stove. If you think you can use a smaller dutch oven and/or have a need for a grill pan, and want it enameled, then this Gennua is a fantastic choice and a terrific value. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Quality
This pot is much nicer than I expected. The enamel is perfect, not one flaw. The pot is heavy cast iron. Very much like ones that come from France but at a fraction of the cost.

Really Nice Pan
I have used this several times since it was purchased and it is a really nice pan. I've used it in the oven and on the stovetop. I'm also happy with how easy it cleans up.

Fits my countertop Bravo XL Pro oven
Finding cookware to fit the Bravo XL Pro countertop oven is a task at times, so was very happy to find this! Made my first loaf of bread and it was delicious! I am looking forward to using it for other foods besides bread. It is quite heavy, as expected for cast iron so, anyone having the Bravo XL knows there is a problem with the racks so have to be very careful using heavy items in it.

It is the right size for a single person.
Just received it24 hours ago and have not used it at this time. I do like the color and it is very heave, which I like and it is just size.

Almost the only cookware you will ever need
I bought this because it fit in my small RV oven, and can be used stove top. Both the bottom and top can be used for different purposes, and so far it has eliminated most of my other cookware. It is made very well. The enameled coating is without blemish, the pieces fit together perfectly, and it does heat evenly. Very happy with purchase.Personally, I can't leave a review without a suggestion for the future.:) While frying hamburgers in the top, and using the base for cooking potatoes and onions, a third addition would be nice to have: A glass lid for the base. That would make steaming and simmering possible when using the lid for other things. Thank you for a great product!
