I wouldn't even consider using uncoated strings on my acoustic guitar. They last soooo much longer and get rid of the horrible squeal you get with uncoated strings.

Very happy with this purchase strings still bright and sharp after months of use.

brilliant sounding would not use any other after trying these bit more more expensive but well worth the extra as they last a little longer and sound brighter than most strings after a couple of gigs

80/20 Bronze strings generally do not last as long as Phosphor Bronzes but I bought these to brighten the sound of a guitar that sounds a little dark with PBs. They have done that very well indeed, and, having used D'Addario XS Phosphor Bronze previously, I expect them to last far longer than uncoated strings. For twice the price, they may last more than twice as long, like the PBs did.The XS PBs only felt slightly different from the uncoated version. These 80/20s hardly feel coated at all.If you do not much like coated strings, the XS range might be worth a look anyway. I suspect D'Addario have come up with a winner here.Update: these strings have now been on the guitar for four months. It is a backup guitar, so they are only played for a few minutes a day, but that is still a long time to keep a good tone and still be feeling good too. I have also fitted a PB set of XSs on the 12-string, which will save even more time.

Prefer Elixir though

I've been buying guitar stings for over 50 years and I have to say these are the best I've ever bought. Clear, bright yet full of depth and basically just sound great. Put them on my Takamine just a couple of hours before a gig and they tuned up perfectly and kept there tuning all evening. Took the guitar out of its bag a couple of days later and still spot on tuning. Not the cheapest but the best I've come across. 👍👍

Sound like a million dollars. Deep sonorous, with a brightness and clarity that's second to none. Last well too. Buy nothing else.
