I was skeptical about this set because there are plenty of similar, poorly made sets out there, than I decided to order this because I saw how the food pieces were wrapped separately in one of the reviews.The toy food are nicely made, solid color, sturdy enough to be abused by my 2 and half years old toddler.This is what this play set can do:1. Simply toy food. ( Imagination play)2. Enhance mobility through 'cutting'.3. Language development. (You need to play with your child and talk too.)4. Promote social skills. (Cut and sharing)5. It's a puzzle game! Highly recommend!Original review: I've been eyeing this set of cutting food for months after comparing a LOT of play food sets, and I'm very satisfied with this one!It has the best variety of play food, including both healthy foods (fruit, seafood, vegetables), junk foods, and dessert. Love the painted details inside. The quality is not bad for plastic play food for kids - it's a hard plastic, the velcro is strong for all except one piece (easily fixed), and they make a crisp crunchy sound when cut apart. I like that it comes with 2 knives and 2 cutting boards in case one breaks.Minor imperfections: I don't care for the cheap storage bag, and 2 pieces had some extra paint mark on there... but these are not a big deal for me, as kids toys will eventually get scuffed up.

This set was a great purchase! I had been looking for a quality set of play food for my daughter. The fact that you can "cut" these toy foods in half was an added bonus. I was very surprised by the quality. The food pieces are a hard plastic, not soft like typical play food. They are vibrant and detailed and well worth the money. It arrived in a handy pink tote and the items were group-bagged inside. My daughter was very excited to receive these and is having fun "cooking" and cutting them apart. The storage bag was great as well as it makes for easy storage. I thought the bag had snaps, but it actually zippered which was even better. I highly recommend this set!

Yes, these are plastic, however they’re much less expensive with much more content than Melissa and Doug which is what we were going to go with. There are so many cool foods in here that so many kids in Midwest don’t know about. That’s wonderful for their understanding of nutrients and the world outside their bubbles. Also, the Velcro holds up. We have a German Shepard and our Melissa and Doug play food Velcro has started not sticking even after cleaned back to solid white. These actually seem to hold up. Plastics suck but if your little wants to cook this is worth it

My three year old son loves these! I purchased them because he loves helping mommy cook in the kitchen but gets dismayed when he can’t help mommy cut things. So I found these toys on amazon to give him the idea of cutting (safely of course) and when he is much, much older of course he can help cut foods with me. He loves cutting the foods and then putting them on his pretend grill and eventually putting them back together and starting all over again. Great toy, very durable and helps foster a pretend play environment. I would Highly recommend to a friend.

I love the Velcro food play sets. This one comes in it's carrying case. There is so much play food in this set. My granddaughter will love it!!!

This product is a durable hard plastic , vibrant in color, and a good size for little hands. The Velcro closure allows for pretend cutting . My Granddaughter loves this set !
