Innova 3130f OBD2 Scanner / Car Code Reader with ABS, Live Data, Battery Reset, and Service Light Reset

DID EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED IT FOR VERY HAPPY

Compared to a cheaper OBD-II reader I have, this goes into more detail with allowing you to record your vehicle information, including the VIN number to get more results. It allows you to store the vehicle info so that it has it the next time you plug it in. It has an option for OBD-I, but I have not paid for the upgrade. However, it is nice knowing this is available.As far as being intuitive to use, this is fairly easy. There is a manual available on the website (also linked on Amazon) for more help. We like the backlit screen, which makes it easier to use in the daytime. It also has a light on the cable where it plugs into the vehicle.We tried using an Innova app, but the one in the iPhone app store wouldn't connect. We went on the website and found that it will connect with the Innova Repair Solutions app that it would at least connect via bluetooth to my phone. The Quicklink app did not work. However, if the vehicle isn't coding anything at the moment, then nothing will read. I would say the Bluetooth feature isn't a huge benefit. The reader gives a lot of detail.The ABS codes and several others are available in the System Menu, not the main menu. It is important to refer to the PDF manual to discover how to retrieve these if you're having trouble.Other features that are positive: Live data includes sensors, emissions, RPM, O2 readings. We found all sorts of codes related to the problem with our ABS, however the fix is probably not a reset but a repair. But at least we could see 15 codes. The system menu under enhanced showed additional codes not showing in the regular reading. It tells you what the code means in detail right on the scanner, compared to old models where you had to look it up online somewhere. It tells which side of the vehicle and front or back on the brake troubles.Things I would like to improve: The buttons are not lit. It is hard to see them in the dark. It would be nice if the casing had a rubber shell. I'm not sure how this would fare if I dropped it.Overall, this is helpful. It would be 5 stars if the buttons were lighted, which would mean I wouldn't have to juggle a flashlight and the reader at the same time.

Perfect for the beginner looking to find out just what is wrong with their vehicle. Extremely easy to use.

No ABS, No codes, which was my main reason for purchase, does read live though.

I sent it back could not get my Mercedes model and year let alone any Mercedes Benz programs and details relating to make and year.I’m still waiting for my refund.

Too expensive for what little it can do.

This code reader is able to read the check engine lights and ABS trouble codes , as well as re-set the oil light and battery maintenance light. So, for example if I have a dashboard light, this scanner gives me some information about what the problem is. If the problem is something simple--like an open cap from the gas tank, or an issue with an accessible sensor--I can take care of it myself. In terms of more complicated matters, however, unless you're a mechanic or have access to all the needed repair equipment, this code reader would only serve as a second opinion. Thus, the true value of this ode reader, is if you're able to do the repairs yourself. However even if its just used for second opinion, at least its a way to double check what the mechanic is telling you.There's also a Live Data tool that enables you to stream/record and then review the date on a computer, but again, if the repairs are more complicated, this won't help you out as you'll have to use the services of a repair shop rather than attempt to use the information to fix it yourself. Overall, however, it is useful for getting a basic picture of the issue.
