Works well...caution on vacuum pump
I have so far used this to remove larger bubbles from resin before moving to the pressure pot. It will enlarge bubbles and make them float to the top...even micro sized bubbles become visible and can turn a 3/4 cup of resin into a full cup under vacuum. My vacuum pump designed for automotive A/C system repair will vacuum air out so fast and the gauge needle will move from 0 to -1 in a very short time. I'll never go all the way to -1. I've seen reviews of others who blew out their lids, but I can safely assume that it was because they went past the limit displayed on the gauge.

Wotkable vacuum chamber
For my lost-wax casting operation, it suits me fine and with a locally acquired vacuum pump, does the job.

BEWARE! Red silicone splits resulting in extremely loud bang and silicone everywhere.
Like others have experienced this thing fails catestrophically after only a few uses. The red silicone ring split in two separate places, the thich plastic top slid sideways as it was splitting and suddenly -- BANG! -- there is an implosion and whaterver you are degassing gets thrown all over the place. UNSAFE - DO NOT BUY!

Good buy? Not so much.
Very reasonable price but you get what u pay for. Lid is just barely large enough. My gasket split after about 4 uses, blew about $20 worth of silicone. Appears lid should be not only larger but thicker. Air fittings made for thicker material, sont tighten properly. Add that $20 to your nest egg and get a better unit.
