Series is Amazing
These books have been amazing! Stories are deep and touching with wonderful characters. But the editing in this book took a daredevil nose dive. Typos everywhere, plot errors, and word for word repeated sections.

Waiting for the Rest!
So I’m just going to throw it out there, but where are the other main/sub character stat sheets? I know it’s a lot of information to write out/read through but I’m very curious to know what Rugrat’s stats are and hopefully I’m not the only one!Other then that minor detail; lol! There were little to no grammar issues, just small stuff through the last couple of books. World building was very good and detailed! Same with character development (hopefully, we’ll get to see some knew love interests in the future). Also might want to work on cliffhangers, this book and some of the ones before it just abruptly ended, which is fine if you’re not knowing how to leave it off and don’t want to give too much away, but it’s not a clean finish. Yes, it makes you want to pick up the next book but then the next book doesn’t really seamlessly pick up where the other just ended. So having a smooth cliffhanger ended would really help with transition.Overall really great series! I enjoyed books 1-10 and I can’t wait to read about the rest of the realms.

Great story, but too short... with much better editing!
Ok, so the title for my review is kind of clickbait. Sorry, but it is also accurate in a couple ways. Read on...I love these Ten Realms books! And this one was no reception. The story was, as usual, fast paced and engaging. However, the author seems to have pulled back a bit from the details of the world he's created (both culturally and with his characters). You'll find that the story for the Eighth Realm book is one half to one third as long as those for the previous realms. With most other authors, I look for a more succinct story, but these worlds are so expansive that, in THIS book, I feel like, well, it was incomplete (in comparison to the other books in this series). Heck, if the previous books were similarly abbreviated, I wouldn't know what is "missing". But I do know. :-/After reading the book, I can see that the story of the Eighth Realm necessarily HAS to be shorter... but not this short. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but once you've read it, you'll understand. That said, I think the author has set up the rest of the series to be back to it's usual grand story telling. I hope the author will return to his usual 500++ page books for the next 2+ books! I really hope he isn't getting burned out on the story line and is writing shorter books just to finish it.On a final note, the editing on this book is far better than in the others in the series. There are still mistakes, but they rarely drop you out of the story, so that's definitely a win. One, non-spoiler hint... at one point in the story when a character gets "A LOT" of experience and it seems like their level doesn't increase... wait. I didn't and shot off a plot error in the Kindle app at that moment and then felt like a moron later.Overall, a good book! Recommended!

Solid.
This was good and bad. I liked a lot of parts of this book yet I felt things progressed too fast in some areas. I understand the author wanting to move forward with the overall plot yet I think some things should have been explored rather than explained. The segments of Erick and Rugrat were great and I enjoyed them going back on the adventures yet again I feel that some things are moving too fast and the reals should be explored more.Overall I enjoy the book and the battles it will be interesting to see where this goes and what other members of the Alvans do once they pass the 8th realm.

Excellent stories.
The author, Michael Chatfield, is obviously former servicemember as it shows in his stories and in the level of detail provided in his works. As a former US Army Combat Medic myself I truly enjoy reading about the way his Combat Medic Eric West uses the skills of earth and connects it with the "magic" of the Ten Realms. Thinking of how things could have been different if only I had had stamina and healing potions along with healing spells in the real world during my deployments to Iraq and the Middle East makes reading these stories exciting and maybe a bit sentimental. Alas these are tales that will never come true but for the combat veteran reading the stories and seeing the perspective of another veteran of the military it's a comfort knowing that someone knows what its like to have served and worked to save lives in a combat zone. The detail of PTSD, the feelings of anger over loss, the desire to fight for those beside you on your left and right these are the things that make this book and the ones preceeding it come alive.Excellent stories Michael Chatfield. I'm looking foreward to the next book.

Reader Interactive Writing
Yup! Not one of those kindergarten novels for weak minded. The author plants a few story seeds randomly across his books Then vomits out a torrent of jumbled words and occasionally contradicting facts. He challenges interested and superior minds to untangle their own version of story that best fits provided text and explains apparent contradicts and missing explanations. But honestly I would not play AD&D with someone whose character sheets did not follow consistent level progression. At one point the top of sheet said level 104 and the bottom 78. And that was not just typos as story text also made references to erratic progressions including 'I finally made mid-Master' then a few chapters later whining about being only high Expert unable to make Master.

Piers Anthony Syndrom?
This ten book series looks like it will continue into an eleventh book, possibly further. Mr. Chatfield may have the same problem Piers Anthony has -- where his trilogies grow into series of seven or eight books and other works expand accordingly. Fortunately for us readers, that means we get longer and more complex stories to hold our interest. This book, and the series of which it is a part, may appeal to fans of the broader Fantasy genre and some fans of Military Fiction. Those who enjoy playing RPGs may also find this series an enjoyable read.

Fast paced adventure.
Despite being one of the shortest books in the series, this one really focuses on Erik and Rugrat, their consequences from the final fight of the Seventh Realm and their continued journey.Ties up some loose ends from the previous books but also adds some new information and questions to the extended story. This should be the format for side quest books for various supporting characters.

Realms of wonder!
I like it the way things are described, very detailed withou being boring. The battles are fast paced, and contain all information.

Hero’s?
After the major war in the seventh realm parts it is amazing to see so much more of the airships and the eighth realm. Alva has grown so much and the world is changing around them. It is really nice to see Erik and Rugrat step back a bit from the day to day running and also Momma Rodriguez find her place in the city in a way that is invaluable to so many of the characters. The changes that have happened to this point still catch me off guard and I am actually dreading the next book as it brings it closer and closer to the series end.

Too short !!!!
The singular complaint I have about this book is that it is too short. This book is not as action packed as the last 2 books, but I personally enjoyed the a bit calmer tone, giving a breather between the earlier conflict and conflicts that will inevitably come in the next books.
