A/M switch
Easy install. Learn as you go, easier than it appears on u tube. Not necessary to remove entire trim, but insure you remove enough retainers to let the trim hang down from the front edge of lid Allowing access to the 2 nuts holding switch in. Disconnect wiring. Clean off old melted rubber from switch area well. I used 97% alcohol and terry cloth rag. Re connect wiring to switch. Install new switch. note: you can test operation of switch at this time. Close lid latch without closing lid. Operate switch and if it opens/releases, your good to go. Reinstall trim and re-test. It is a a/m part so only time will tell on longevity. Tried cleaning old switch of melted rubber, don’t waste you time. Just throw it away.
