Works great so far
I've been hunting for a year for a distributed music system that had non-hideous keypads (Russound, Xantech, etc) and did not require depending on an "authorized dealer" (Nuvo, etc). I have a Sonos Connect and few TVs feeding it, and it drives several pairs of Monoprice ceiling speakers and the line out feeds a surround receiver in the main TV area. When I tested the volume on this thing, it could reach louder than I would ever care to use it without any noticeable distortion to my mp3-quality ears. The configuration software worked well and really surprised me with the number of configuration settings. The features I really liked: sources can be given arbitrary names for display on the keypads; zones can be assigned a default volume level on power up; zones can be grouped as expected, but they can also be partially grouped so they always have the same source but independent volume. I've only had it for one week, but it looks like my search is over.

BUYER BEWARE! Don't buy unless you want to replace it in about 1 year!
DO NOT BUY! like so many others, this unit stopped working about 1 year after use. I returned to Leviton via their RMA process, which was simple and quick. A few days after they received it, they informed me that I must pay $250 for a Non-warranty repair". the email further stated " There is non-warranty damage to the unit consistent with transient voltage surge or wiring error." Sounds odd that my problem is the same as so many other have had and reported across the Internet. We have been running fine for over a year, and never had any issues. The unit is installed in a server closet along to the same circuit as our network equipment. All of which is protected by a UPS, line conditioner and backup generators. I have great difficulty in believing that our power caused this problem. I have officially placed a hold on all Leviton products from our hotel and apartment installations.. They obviously build poorly constructed products and dont stand behind them.

Worked great till is went dead. Edit: Leviton has sent a replacement unit
This amp worked great for a few weeks, then it wend dead. I called and emailed Leviton and they promised me a I would be taken care of. That was about a week ago. And they have not returned my past several emails. So depending on how this works out I could be changing this review. As for the Amp itself it a little under powered but most rooms in the house you really don't need blasting sound, and you can add an inline amp to two of the channels if you want more power. I will add an extra amp for the patio speakers. The ability to input a local source is very handy. This unit comes with four extra source panels, but can support 8 of them. You can also use a bluetooth input. Overall its a very versatile unit. If I can only get it replaced. Edit: After a few more emails I did get a reply telling me that I would be receiving a new board to replace the bad one. This has arrived and should not be too hard to replace. I also see that David Keller of Leviton was not happy with my review on many levels. I'm not sure how to respond to that. There was confusion on who to contact, and I was handed off to a second person, who was not sure what to do. I was told that I would be taken care of but it took a while. All in all I am changing my rating of this from 1 stars to 4 stars. The reason for not giving it 5 stars has nothing do with the slow return, but for the low power of the amp. Currently 20 Watts. I would like to see a option for a 40 Watt version. I will be adding on a 4 zone add on amp in a few mounts.

Great distributed audio system
The Hifi2 is one of the best solutions if you are looking for multi room audio AND you have the wiring in place. I use it with a Sonos Connect and the Sonos App. Works great and haven’t found a better solution. The Hifi2 is the amp and distribution by room. Sonos is the digital interface. Highly recommend this combo.

Junk
Bought in 2016. Had for less than a year, died. Leviton repaired it. 2021 it died again. Idea of this is great but suffers from poor quality. This is a structured wired product and should last longer than 5 years. Will avoid this brand moving forward.

I would recommend it.
It is impresive, you can do all kind of audio source, output mixing, you could get quickly lost too. Free aps it is very basic, but works I believe it is short in power, it could be 100 RMS Watts for channel and kick some Russond asses, I would recommend it.
