Whirlpool WHKF-GAC Undersink Water Filter Replacement Cartridge

I bought a house that has this and a Culligan AC-30 filtration system installed. This filter setup was hooked up to the cold water supply in my kitchen sink, and I noticed that the water flow had dropped considerably. I found this filter, installed it and it works as advertised. Water flow is back to normal, and it appears to be working.

The only issue I had was that my under-sink filter was an old type Model WHCF-DUF and I was trying to find something of good quality to fit it. Most other, generic, cheaper filters fit it BUT this filter actually has a smaller diameter center hole so when I drop it down into the canister, the seal won't touch the base to seal it.So I just took the rubber gasket from the old cheaper style universal filter, cleaned it well, put it in the bottom & set the filter into the canister. I then threaded the canister on and no leaks! So far its been working great to get rid of the awful, algae, "dirt taste" coming from the city water service.. Apparently this isn't uncommon in warmer months when the algae tends to increase and some people are a bit more sensitive, whatever.. Point is, the water does not smell nor taste like "dirt" anymore, just a neutral taste and smell like I expect!

Good filter, priced high.

This is the recommended filter that comes with the original filter housing. Lowe's does not carry it but, has a similar model that cost a little more. Much easier to just get it from Amazon.

I like being able to purchase this from amazon. It would only be more convenient if they offered it in a subscription so that I didn't have to remember when to order a new one.I have used this in-line filter system with these filters since buying my house and there is a noticeable difference between the filtered water and the water in other rooms without it. All of our kitchen cold water is filtered and it makes a difference in our drinks and food as well.

Same as you get from the store. You can get it cheaper with alternative brand. 3 stars is purely because of its price.

Perfect fit, works well, no complaints. Better cost than at the store. Will buy again when we need to replace again.

If you can love a water filter cartridge, you're pretty strange. But I do love what it does for the water that comes out of the faucet it's connected to For the price and convenience, I don't think there is a better product on the market and it's an easy installation (so says my handy man son). I get about 6 months of decent water through the filter before needing a replacement. I would recommend the filter gizmo and its replacement cartridge to anyone who wants drinking water without the city water taste.

It was the correct part, it was delivered on time and was un-damaged.
