SHIMANOSH-XC300 High Value XC Mountain Bike Shoe

Good Affordable Shoe
Affordable entry level shoes. Good entry into the world of clipless. Purchased these on sale, came from much heavier SPD shoes. These feel lightweight, has decent stifness and a BOA dial. They've gotten me through my first century, and a few gravel races this season. While the fit and lockdown could be better, I suspect this is because of the one BOA dial system instead of two, I cant really complain because of the price.

my first pair of SPD shoes
The media could not be loaded. these were my first experience riding clipless, the shoe is pretty lightweight and very comfortable once broken in. you can put down solid power when you get used to the new stroke

Not Terrible
These are okay, perfectly adequate. I compared them to the GE9 also branded Shimano, which cost twice as much, and kept the GE9's because they were hands-down more comfortable.

Good, reasonably priced shoe
I ride 50-60 miles a week for fitness so I don’t need a pro grade shoe. These are comfortable and I like the BOA style adjustment. The BOA dial is in an unusual position but it seems to tighten the shoe well. I would recommend these shoes.

Great Value First SPD Shoes
These were my first clipless shoes. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money because I wasn’t sure if I was going to stay with clipless. In experienced rider in general. Use it for my gravel bike. I’ve climbed hills off my bike, walked through streams several times and pedaled about 150 miles. The material is quite good, the flex is fine and I don’t notice any gaps or movement while riding. The grip is REALLY good on dirt uphill and down. This was really impressive and I haven’t slipped at all with these on dirt. One of the downsides, due to this bein budget minded model, is the BOA being in the middle along the “lace” section. So you cannot customize the tightness by your toes and on top of your foot. While this doesn’t feel like it affects my foot clipped in, I do plan to move to a dual adjust system on my next pair.Recommend sizing up 1 size if you have a normal to higher width foot. I usually wear 10.5, went with the size 46(11-11.5).Great shoes for getting started and will get it done for you and get miles in.

Value for Money
This pair of SH-XC300 is my 4th pair of SPD shoes from Shimano among my RX8, 301M and XC7. Unlike the XC7 and RX8, XC300 has no option of Narrow/Wide but my usual size "45" (one size up) from Shimano is a prefect fit to me. The design and the shape of XC300 is quit similar to XC7 except using one Boa L6 dial that is very easy to use. XC300 is not too good for long walks (similar to XC7) but it is still way better than the RX8. I'll wear 301M or my Giro Rumble*VR when "walking" is needed. Lastly, the XC300 can use with my pair of Shimano XTR SPD pedals very well but it may need to "hunt" a bit when using my Shimano PD-M8120 pedals on the move. It may due to the extended platform of the PD-M8120. Overall, I like the XC300. It's pattern is quite unique too.
