Love Trump? Hate Trump? Either Way, This Book Will Help You Understand Trump
With over a million copies sold and tens of thousands of reviews written, it seems redundant to repeat what others have said. Instead, here are a few takeaways:For those who refuse to read this book because it is about Donald Trump -- Obviously, your choice, but without reading it one is only left with the comments of other people who dislike him. This includes those who believe he is unhinged and dangerous, which is far from the truth. President Trump uses many of the same tactics explained in the book. The tactics are a means to an end. As an example, there are those on both sides of the political aisle who argue what Trump is doing will ruin the economy. Quote from the book: "...politicians don't care too much what things cost. It's not their money."The book, published in 1987, refers to politicians not in the way everyone thinks about today, but in their progress and accomplishments. For nonperformers and those who stood in his way when his goals included constructing buildings that would be advantageous for the neighborhoods and cities (such as taxes), Trump addresses them by name in the book. For those who feel he is abrasive, it is usually after someone attacks him first (the chapters including Mayor Ed Koch are enlightening). As Trump said in the book, "I don't go out of my way to be cordial to enemies."The final page of the book discussed inventing creative ways to give back to the community, with money but also something he recognizes as important, the giving of his time. In his words: "To me, what matters is the doing, and giving time is far more valuable than just giving money."{Final note to those who point out the authorship: Credits for authorship read "Donald J. Trump with Tony Schwartz." Mr. Schwartz probably arranged the chapters and helped to ensure an enjoyable read. However, Mr. Trump's words come shining through, almost as if he was sitting in a nearby chair and telling the stories to the reader.

Easy Read, Very Enlightening
As a small business owner, this gave me a bit more confidence in my office. Trump describes his daily life along with the difficulties that he face in each era of his life (up to date of publish) in regard to the Trump Organization. Well written and easy to read. You can really place yourself in Trump’s shoes as you’re going along.

Nice read, reflected his personalities.
nice read. Regardless of what he did politically, Trump is an excellent businessman. The book was not hard; I can prove that he wrote it himself as the word choices are arrogant and pretty much self-centered. Not aiming to learn much in the autobiography, it was pretty relaxing to read about how the current president brag about his accomplishments he could actually gain without even trying with his huge amount of inherited wealth.

Fascinating insight ms into the man, his motives and his morals.
I first read this book in 2016 after Donald Trump became my party’s nominee for President. I hated the idea but noted that many political leaders whose integrity I respected (including one I knew personally) had now enthusiastically endorsed him. I thought that since I could not vote for his opponent or not vote at all I needed to learn more about him and why these men and women suddenly changed their view as they got to know him personally and no longer just as an often ruthless opponent and the silly caricature portrayed by his many enemies. This book was, I decided, the best way to do that. I was right.Today, as he has begun his ambitious (though controversial) second term I decided to re-read it. The man has not changed; the insights still explain much of what he does and why he does it.For any willing to reconsider their opinion of the man or learn what makes him tick or how he became—and remains—perhaps the most astute and successful deal-maker on the globe or what makes him so unique… well, this should be the first book you read.I seldom read autobiographies. But The Art of the Deal is an exception. I don’t regret it. And neither will you.

Outstanding!
I wish I read this book when it came out. I have always believed in Donald Trump as a man who could save the US and the world if he decided to do it. Reading this book assures me further that Mr. Trump is everything I thought he was and more!
