Recommend using heavy weight material to stabilize the device on whatever surface you use. Otherwise it’s inexpensive approach for a rookie like me. I like it.

I am very pleased with this easel. . This is well made and sturdy. I can use it on my lap or table and the 4 adjustable notches give a variety of angles. This is a good purchase! I would definitely suggest this.

It is Currently Holding a Canvas That is Much Bigger Than 23”
I bought this for my table top obviously!It is exactly as advertised, I am currently using it to hold a finished painting that is much larger than 23 inches. I’m guessing if I wanted to use it to paint then it would be less stable, but this product is as advertised and it looks nice and it is easy to use.

Sturdy frame that can be easily modified
The frame is quite flexible and sturdy. I removed the horizontal struts to use it as an easel for water colour painting. It was easy to unscrew the horizontal struts (which I have kept). I then used a strong double sided tape to fasten the custom made board to the frame. I especially like how it hangs off the side of my desk. It doesn't move and I don't have a ledge that gets in the way. A perfect solution!
