Keep your dog warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Easy pass-through self-closing door is ideal for dogs such as beagles, basset hounds and pugs. 2-4 inches of real foam (Styro/EPS) insulation in each panel.

Window Missing
The doghouse arrived promptly and was exactly what I wanted, except for one thing. The rear ventilation window was missing, which means that the back opening can't be closed off. This makes the house unsuitable for winter use, since the cold flows in. I have asked for a replacement window and will update this review if and when it arrives. So far, I haven't been able to teach my dog to use the door, but it's only been a few hours, so will keep working on it. The instructions that come with the doghouse explain how to train your dog to use the door, which I very much appreciate. The bottom part of the door can be removed to make entry and exit easier, which will be great for the summer. The plastic seems to be good quality and will be easy to clean. Unfortunately, the screws used to attach the top to the bottom were difficult to turn, since apparently there was no guide hole on the bottom part. I recommend drilling guide holes in the bottom section before putting the top part on and screwing the two parts together. The screws fit so tightly, and are so difficult to turn, that it will be hard to disassemble the unit for cleaning. (To be clear, I should say that the top section overlaps the bottom section and the screws go in horizontally. The top section has guide holes for the screws, but after that, you are putting the screw through tough plastic with no guide hole. You have to be very careful not to strip the screw head.)

Well made, insulated animal house!
My wife had me look for a small 'doghouse' for these outdoor cats that visit us for food. My wife loves cats and feeds them daily. Winter was coming so we started looking at ways to build a small shelter for them. Well, this doghouse just about builds itself it is so easy to put together. It appears to be very well insulated also. Only issue is the cats don't go inside if the swinging door is attached which is a shame because it would be warmer with it on. That isn't a fault of this unit though. Would definitely recommend!

Terrific dog house used as a cat shelter!
I bought this, had great customer service on it plus it is very well constructed. It has great insulation with two small viewing windows. Excellent insulated hole for adding electrical cord/heater. The swing door is very unique. I was impressed & am using it for feral cats during the winter. I installed a safe heater called "Sweeter Heater" inside on the ceiling & first lined the entire inside with thin silver insulation roll, mounted with picture hanger adhesive to make it warmer. To get the feral cats inside, initially I proped the swing door open & had a small blanket. Later cats were so used to it, they pushed right in the swing door. With a digital thermometer the temperatures with the heater on a 20 degree Michigan day with door closed was 65 degrees. When very windy, frigid blowing snow below zero this house with heater on was 45 degrees. If you buy a thermocube, it will shut off the heater when outside temp is over 40 but at times I'd prop open the swing-door. Feral cats have thick fur in winter, don't like it too warm. If you buy a thermometer with inside read, you can tell when the cats are inside because their body heat makes the temp rise. I ended up buying two of these DP Hunter houses with heaters because cats were fighting to blood over the one house. When below freezing, they always show up. Electric water and food dishes extra provided. If you don't want to buy a heater you can probably pack the back of the house with hay. I would highly recommend this product.

Insulated, pretty but poorly finished
Seems to be the only insulated dog house available. Very pretty but one of the two I ordered looks like the opening was cut by a Neanderthal with an axe. Still it is functional though crude in appearance. I am using it for outdoor cats so I removed part of the door, raised the remaining part and installed clear flaps that the cats can to push open. The original door would have been perceived as a barrier for cats but perhaps not for dogs.

Great price, great dog house!
Bought this for our Beagle puppy to grow into. You can remove the upper part of the door for warmer months and snap it back on for cooler months. I ordered the heated dog bed that is sized for this house for winter months. Due to dog allergies in my family, our dog needs to (mostly) be an 'outside dog', which is doable in Tennessee.

Insulated dog palace
The dog house goes together easily. It has a place to put a cord through for a heater pad. I like that you can take half the door off for those times when it isn't very cold. I probably will put it back on when winter hits full force. The one I ordered is just perfect for my beagle or the blue heeler mix which is just about the same size as the beagle.

The best insulated dog house on the market today
Well built. Thoughtful features such as the drain hole, and locations to store windows to allow ventilation. The accessories are very well thought out but very expensive. Will wait to see if someone sells used solar-powered ventilation fan and bought a different bran heated dog house pad (cost 50% less). The best insulated dog house on the market today. Best value period.
