Love This
Have tried various edging tools and streamers but this is the best. I am a Wolf Garten fan to be fair but this is good. It does require a bit of grunt to push and I highly recommend you purchase the small handle as the usual long handles are more difficult to use. I also recommend using when there's been a bit of rain, not when too wet but not when bone dry either

Perseverance and practice gives results
This is actually perfect and a good design, but it takes practice, a bit skill and physical effort.I was using a strimmer rotated vertically but this is really hard to do neatly without scalping chunks of grass, going off line, awkward back twisting angle and also fast strimmer line wear against the stone edges is annoying. If you think about it, standing still with your back bent over slightly and trying to run a strimmer in a straight line perpendicular to your stance - it’s almost impossible to do a straight line, what is required is you standing over the line you’re cutting so you can see where the strimmer line is accurately cutting, a skill I couldn’t master around oblong stepping stones.I read the mixed reviews but proceeded because everything from Wolf Garten is pretty damn good, I have accessories I still use that are 30+ years old I believeAround lawn edges it’s a breeze to use but I only have one edge, the rest are all mowing strips of block pavers or edges around inset stone stepping stones in the lawn - which present a different problem, let me explain:This tool works as shears, you are rotating the cutting scissors which slice grass against a steel anvil (one each side as this device can be flipped to use left or right handed of course). In order for the scissors to rotate they need about an inch / 30mm of free air below the level of the grass for the fixed anvil to move along in. So I have effectively cut a narrow slot / trench around all of my stepping stones. The first couple of times you use the edger you have to clear this slot which involves a lot of shoving and thrusting and makes a bit of mess ( best clear up is a garden blower) subsequent use is a bit easier as there is free passage for the shears to move in, rather than snagging on soil or thick root clumps. My technique is to angle the edger slightly too, which reduces the dig-in snagging issue.I think the more you use them it not only keeps the slot clear for them to rotate easier, and therefore allows you to make nicer straight cuts, but your technique improves too.Footnote: This tool is the cheap solution - what I’m probably going to buy is the Stihl ‘rotary scissors’ attachment for their combo system when I can justify the cost! YouTube videos of the rotary scissors have convinced me, this wolf tool is a manual version of the professional toolUPDATE:I attached the ‘D’ handle off another wolf garten short handle onto the end of the long pole type handle I was using with this tool and now it’s even easier to use, manipulate the angle of the edger whilst rolling it forwards and backwards, keeping in a straight line for a good edge. It’s easy to drill-out the rivet holding the D handle in place, the pole handle just has a bung in the end to pull out, then drilling and riveting the D handle onto the aluminium pole is very easy (just be sure the D handle is exactly in the horizontal plane). I didn’t try the D handle on my wooden handle, it might be a different diameter, but would be even easier to attach with a couple of screws I suppose. Now during use I feel I have more control against it rotating off angle since one hand is controlling the angle of the cutter to prevent it digging-in.
