Great value/functionality for the price!
Overall great product in its price range; would recommend. I am a first timer. I made this purchase based on the reviews of the good folks here - your tips were very helpful. Thank you! I would describe the set up as very simple. Here is a detailed rundown of the steps I took to setup & use my cameras based on the instruction pamphlet in the box: Download/opened iPhone app (mine is YI IoT). Plugged camera bulb into table lamp, placed lamp near my router and switched on. Bulb made a short buzzing sound and then beeped. In iPhone app, clicked next at prompt. A QR code appeared. As prompted, turned iPhone so QR code was facing bulb camera. After 25 sec or so, a voice guide stated my connection was successful. Switched off lamp, removed camera bulb and screwed into outdoor socket where it will now live. I turned on the switch to the outdoor socket. Within a few seconds the bulb camera showed up in the iPhone app. I assigned a name. I repeated these same steps for my 2nd bulb. PROS: picture quality is good (I could clearly see shirt/pants color on a man walking down the opposite side of my street). Mic/speaker good (I could hear my dog barking and breeze blowing outside when I turned the speaker on). I have not yet used the night vision feature. Motion detection is good (a car drove by and the camera activated and then rotated to follow it down the street). Sensitivity can be set. High setting is very sensitive; I received alerts when the wind blew because it was sensing motion from the movement of the tree’s leaves. CONS: the angle is not as wide as I would like, however, with the pan/zoom and motion detection, it is workable. Another biggie is that the camera, once activated, takes 6 sec video and then goes into a resting state which best I can tell is 3 to 4 minutes. I performed the following test: I pulled in my driveway, gathered my things, walked to my mailbox, stopped back at the car to lock the door and proceeded past the camera into the house. When I checked my notifications, the camera showed my sitting in my car with no activity afterward. This is because the 6 seconds started when my car came into frame on the street, and ended once in the driveway). From what I read recordings can be continuous with the paid cloud coverage. I’m not sure about the SD cards, and am researching that now. TIP: If your socket is right against your wall like mine, you may have to try these steps. I screwed in the camera bulb, and the camera was directly facing the wall. When I did a pan/zoom, it would rotate right back to this position. From the iPhone app, click on the camera. Within that camera, click Settings. Slide Motion Detection and Rotate Reset to off. Use up/down/right/left controls to focus the camera where you want its “resting position” to be. Slide Motion Detection and Rotate Reset back to On position. I’ve had over 60 motion detection alerts and the position I set is still holding.

This thing is going straight into the trash where it belongs
I NEED MY REFUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!Where do I even start? This “smart” security camera is anything but smart. I bought it thinking it would help secure my home, but honestly, I feel more secure without it. The instructions are practically non-existent, and the app it pairs with? Absolutely horrible. It took forever to connect, and even when it did, the camera’s feed constantly lagged or froze. The image quality is laughable. It claims to be 2MP, but I swear I can take better pictures with a potato. Everything looks blurry, and at night, it’s like watching static on an old TV. The infrared mode? Yeah, don’t even bother. It’s so bad I couldn’t tell if it was a burglar or a raccoon in my backyard. Actually, the raccoon probably had better surveillance on me than I had on it!The motion detection is a joke. It either picks up nothing or alerts me to the wind blowing, and let’s not even talk about the sound quality—everything comes through sounding like it’s underwater. Also, they’re designed to screw into a light socket. Seriously? So I have to choose between light or security? Whoever thought this was a good idea clearly never used it in real life.Don’t waste your money or your sanity. This thing is going straight into the trash where it belongs. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Easy to install
Easy to install. Main problem when it rains it stops working. I have it outside . It doesn't respond quick enough to get a picture of the motion. Wind will set it off even on low sensitivity. Night vision is good

Great concept
Loved the idea of the camera. Problem is that light didn’t work and goes off continually without any animal or person in the view.

Works but it freezes up often
As far as clarity of camera it's clear. Now as far as it really recording, it only gives you 6second clips of video when it's alerted to motion. It constantly asks you to subscribe to the cloud. I purchased the sd cards to get full bodied clips of the alerts yet I still get constant alerts to subscribe to the cloud. The reason I got these cameras was so not to have a monthly subscription bill, but to have security video of my own freely. They're ok for now but I plan on buying a more expensive security camera so that I can secure my home without having a subscription to anything and also get all the footage I want n delete what I don't need.
