Good Package
I started with MyDVD version 6 when it was Sonic which worked fine on Windows XP. I then upgraded to Sony Movie Studio which is not the easiest to work with. Moving forward to Roxio Creator 2009 I found a lot easier which worked on Vista but not Windows 7. Not wanting to go back to Sony Movie Studio I upgraded to Roxio Creator 2010 which does work on Windows 7.I find Roxio screens easy to follow and will cover all of your CD Audio and DVD needs. There is a good help system on Roxio's web site as I needed to rotate a video through 90 degrees.Basically well thought out screens to get you going, lots of options to give you a good quality DVD of your movies.

Average product
Overall a good product but expensive. The biggest disappointment is the CD/DVD label printer, which is no better than previous versions and has a very limited choice of palettes. It is not user friendly to use either.I have used Roxio products for some years now and they do work quite well though but this one needs some "new features", not just reworked originals.

Roxio Creator 2010
I have been using Roxio creator since version 5 and usually find it to be a good reliable product. Not so with this version, after installation and registration, everything appears fine but then the problems begin. The software just doesn't want to know, video capture and convert just stops working, its very polite, tells you it will look for a solution and then just shuts down.Emailing for a solution, the reply is reinstall it. I have done this about 4 times now and same result. I have even tried reinstalling windows itself, same problem, it will behave for a while but once it starts misbehaving thats it. I have lost track of the time i have wasted trying to find out what the problem is with it. Shutting down antivirus and firewalls won't cure problem either. My computer is a high spec windows 7, quad core processor, 8gb memory, hd radeon graphics card, so you can rule out system spec for any of the problems.I have found that you really need to use more than one program for these kind of projects anyway. I use AVS4YOU software, similar to Roxio but it just works, no messing about. Roxio say that similar software can cause instability to Roxio software, however it doesn't stop AVS4YOU working and anyway Roxio was playing up long before i installed AVS4YOU.In summary Roxio has let it self down with this version, the software is to buggy to rely on, do yourself a favour try out AVS4YOU, its free to try and its roughly the same price as Roxio. Pity you can't try Roxio before you buy it!

Should have listened to other reviews
As others have said, this is some badly designed (bloated and clunky) software, from a company that specialise in this field of software. Couple that with an already bloated and clunky os, Windows Vista and there is a good chance theres gonna be tears and physical damage to your computer... inflicted by you.Strange behaviour on the softwares part, such as when I launch the video converter, it insists on launching iTunes as well. It somehow can't convert without it. Now i'm a fan of iTunes as much as the next guy, but this software needs to get over it. iTunes doesn't love it back.I left it in my computer for a while to see if Roxio would continue to release some performance updates, they did. Only it's not free, and it's called Roxio Creator 2011... one is not impressed Roxio. Last Roxio product for me.I fell for the marketing, I mean just looking at the list of things this software is capable of is impressive. I will tell people straight though and bust one of their marketing lines. This software has limited CUDA use. It's only used in transcoding AVCHD as far as I can tell.I also found out that apparently CUDA can only be used for specific jobs and only specific parts of that job. It's apparently not as simple as have CUDA do all your conversion, it can't do that. That's why it hasn't been widely implemented... because it can't be. So don't get it thinking you can just relieve your CPU and just use your faster GPU.Installing can be fiddly and both installing and uninstalling take an age.Edit: Uninstalling seems to have increased the responsiveness and performance of Windows Vista, by a useful margin.

Basic Programs Providing Sound Software
If you are on a budget, and you need to buy several software programs, such as a video editing suite, photo editing suite, DVD burning/authoring suite and music management suite etc, then this software could be ideal for you. At a total cost of around £60 for multiple software packages - Creator 10 is unbeatable. What Roxio are good at is producing software that is pretty easy to use and multi-functional. In this package you get an array of software programs which covers all the above. What I find tough with Roxio is that the actual software components are never quite as good as say individual software packages designed for that purpose. For example, you have a video editing software program on Creator 10, but it just doesn't feel and look as good as my existing video editing software package which is designed solely for that purpose. The interface isn't as sick and you don't get enough free templates etc. I guess this this why the Creator 10 software is as cheap as it is.The interface in Creator 10 is very very slick, and pleasing to the eye. You can load Creator and from the front page, you can be taken directly to where you need to go. New in Creator 10, amongst others, are some on line video tutorials - great if you are new to this package. I am using Windows 7 and to date, I have had no problems at al.You might be wondering why I bought this software? Well, I wanted a package that I could use for copying discs from one CD/DVD to another. No doubt I could have find other cheaper packages but when I read the blurb, for the amount of content I had in Creator, hence why I bought it.Strongly recommended.
